Thumbs down Lottery is rigged proof

Quote:
Wall recognizes the pressures that come with being selected No. 1 overall, and when he crossed paths with Irving last week at the NBA lottery in Secaucus, N.J., not only did he let Irving know in advance of the telecast that he was headed to Cleveland before the telecast – is he psychic? – but he also tried to share some of his experiences from his past season in Washington. “I talked to him, and told him, just come in and play your game, but you’ve got to learn. It’s going to be a learning process,” Wall said last week. “You’re not going to get certain calls. People are going to go at you certain ways. You’ve got to be physically and mentally prepared for this level. I think he’s good enough to do it if he just stays focused.”

Wtf how the hell did he know that he was going to cleveland. I swear the only guy in the room that was supposed to know the pick was the guy that came out of the room. Did he guess, ya right they won with the 2 percent pick so idk about that.

Why the hell would Stern rig the lottery then tell John Wall about it?

I have no reason to believe it's not rigged. Unless you actually SEE the whole process you have no proof.

I understand they are audited by reputable companies and so forth. Sure they audit the process but do they issue an opinion on it?

If they don't issue an opinion then they haven't put their reputation on the line. Even if they issued an opinion you would have to get the details to show that the opinion is based on the same outcome you are looking for.

I have no doubt that it is rigged. As a business, could you REALLY leave some of these massive factors that could sink an entire team up to the luck? I think not.

rigged might not be the right word, but no matter how you word it, it still seems "set-up" to me. c'mon, lets be real here, 96-98, toronto can't get a first round pick due to expansion rules (total bull shit, b/c when charlotte came back into the league in the mid '00, they didn't have a rule like that for them). '03 comes along and who gets mr. james? how can this not be more obvious? lebron from ohio who can save the cavs, ohio team? are cleveland that lucky to get all these balls bounce their way? finally when we get the first overall pick, we can't get h/s seniors cause they aren't allowed to be drafted anymore without one year of college, now we are suppose to be 3rd pick and we fall to fifth while la clippers (who they traded thier #1 to clev) gets a #1 pick with 2% cahnce? ok maybe again rigged night not be the right word but screw toronto should be the right meaning......

depends on why you think the nba would rig the draft. is it because they want to make money or because of a better story?
lets look at some of the past number 1s:
why award CLE number 1 in the year of lebron james?
- home town kid = good story line
- not a big market so wouldn't make the NBA as much money if he went elsewhere

why award CLE again this year?
- good story line because they lost lebron james
- but again, doesn't make business sense

why award SA number 1 in the year of Tim duncan?
- no story line
- SA not a big market

why award ORL number 1 in the year of dwight howard?
- no story line
- ORL not a big market

etc etc....it goes on

AND why were the knicks never awarded number 1 through a decade of SUCKING?

u can make the case the NBA rigs for the better story line, because non of those examples make any financial sense. but then again, what does a good story line do for the NBA financially?

i think part of it is a good story line and the other is that fact that they want to have a "big name player" in that market so they don't have to relocate every nba franchise everytime that franchise is on its downward spiral. mind you if you look at these teams, orl, clev, SA, your right the are not big town markets (maybe orl), so if the nba doesn't do something to help right the sinking ship, those franchises probably wouldn't last till this day. you have to also realize that the Raptors will make money no matter if we have a star player or not. i am guessing that we are top 15 in the league in attendance, where would SA CLV and ORL be if they didn't have their star players?
the reason why markets like toronto, ny, & bos don't regularly get #1 picks is because they can make a large enough profit even without star players being there. there will always be close to sell outs every home game in these markets, you don't think the nba knows that?

yes cuz cleveland is such a huge market that the NBA does whatever it can to help them. please......
explain the knicks decade of sucking then
and if the league was really out there trying to scew us, why give us the number 1 at all?

i am not trying to argue with you, i am only stating the obvious and obviously you don't get what i am trying to say.

1. knicks decade of sucking - are you going to tell me that no matter how much they suck, that the nba would relocate them eventually? even if they were terrible for 20 straight years, there wouldn't be a worry of relocation with this team because of the fact they are in new york, basketball mecca.

2. cleveland - i am not saying that they are such a huge market so thats why the nba helped them out, but what i am trying to say is the total opposite, that they are in such a small market that they needed the help from the nba so there wouldn't be another reloacted team. you think cleveland would of survived if lebron didn't go there in '03?

3. toronto getting number 1 pick - and who did we end up with? bargs? great start player there. you don't think that if the nba were allowed h/s students to be still drafted at that time we wouldn't have gotten a durant or oden (thank god we didn't get him anyways).

like i said, toronto and ny are big enough markets to survive on their own without have to bring a star player in to help the team out.

so when is it minny or sac's turn to get their number 1? i could've included memphis if it wasn't for the year they had. the NBA must be saying "thank goodness, a small market franchise that didn't need our help"

With the amount of people that would have to be complicit i doubt that it's rigged. But i wouldn't be shocked if it was.....if that makes any sense.

ummmm incase you haven't heard, sca is gonna be reloacted in the near future, as for minny, i cannot say cause i simply don't know. and yes i think the nba are saying right now, ""thank goodness, a small market franchise that didn't need our help" for memphis. besides, mem has a team that is built the right way. not all teams need a #1 pick, and even if they do, it does not guarantee anything for that team. teams just need to build a proper way for them to be sucessful, it just so happens that ny had isiah running that team and we all know how that went.

on a side note, isiah is such a bad gm, look at what he did with ny, and i will put my money on it that isiah somehow negotiated with stern back in '94 to not give us a number 1 pick, seems like a isiah thing to do

Dont forget

Chicago - #1 pick - Derrick Rose - hometown kid

but regardless... its impossible to rig something like this with them asking random people who are not at all affiliated with the NBA to watch the ping pong ball draws ... i.e Doug Smith of the Toronto Star this year..

The people they invite and hastily explain the system to are far from being maths geniuses. NBA don't wanna get scrutinized.
Don't forget Rose to Chicago. and last year title to Lakers. It's all scripted.
Envelopes didn't really mix thanks to the wax. It's not impossible.

Ya but remember in the article he said that he never got to see anything they wrote down. How do we know what they actually wrote down on the paper?

I'm not going to try to convince anyone that it is not rigged, but I would appreciate it if someone proclaims that they have proof that it is rigged, to actually present that proof.

Instead I get speculation that the envelopes get messed with. Thanks.
