Default Long Term Effects?

How is this little ride we are going on going to effect Jose decision to sign with us in the future?

If I was him right now..

"what more can I do...I play well, am better than my backup. and yet coach doesnt have the faith in me to play me. All my efforts and I don;t even get a chance to make em stick. Hmmmmm....sure would be nice to be dishing to that Lebron guy"

BC better sit his ass down and tell him what his plan is, or Jose is as good as gone, no player in his right mind would put up with the treatment he is getting.

Just imagine for a momment , the shoe was on the other foot, and TJ was leading the team and then sitting down......Jose is handling it like a pro, but every time they pan by his face on the bench, I get pissed for him.

BC must sit Mitchell down and tell him what his plan is. Its not TJ's fault. Did I just say its not TJ's fault. Well I did TJ is TJ Mitch knows that, you must go with Jose as our primary guy down the stretch. Give TJ some time to rest Jose and thats it, we must get ready for the playoffs. Mitch don't wait for the playoffs to play Jose in the fourth quarter.

Well hopefully we fire Smitch somewhere between our first round exit and free agent signing time. I know this sounds harsh, but I don't know if he can redeem himself for these few weeks for me. He's really been a fuck you to the principles that you want on a good basketball team - Teamwork, discipline against dumb and selfish plays, rewarding the players doing their job, TRYING TO WIN. Throw that in with our horrible xs and os, timeout plays, etc., and I'm hoping the writing's on the wall.

Whatev. I'm bitter tonight. I need to sleep this one off. Maybe I should see a silver lining about these last couple weeks - Maybe it really is "The Perfect Storm" that creates some changes to this team.

I'm pretty confident that we won't be able to move Ford. Size of contract, history of serious injuries and now you can throw in mental meltdowns/basketcase, you guys think its going to be easy for BC to move him.

That's being said, what if we seriously have to considering trading Jose? We'd definitely do a " sign & trade", but who and what do you think we could get in return that would help us next season?

smitch has three years and 12 million left on his contract. this team has a history of paying one coach to coach and another to relax and golf or coach another team. do you think the beancounters over at MLSE will be so eager to agree to such a move?
i want him gone, but there's no way. the ownership is more interested in the bottom line than winning. always has been. always will be.

With regards to moving TJ's contract. Could the Raptors move him on a trade and still continue to pay part of his contract ? For example pick up half of his salary for the first year, so we bite the bullet. This 2 point guard rotation is not going to work.

guys, i honestly believe jose will try his hardest to get outta here in the offseason.
we'll match everything thats thrown at him, and he'll stay... but he really and truly wants out.
look at the pro's and cons for him to leave:
pro's:
he'll be a STARTER and get 40 minutes a game
he'll increase his stats all around
he'll possibly be a star in this league
he'll get outta toronto and the mess that he's in now

cons;
he'll leave garbo

uh yeah. why the hell would he want to be here?

The way I look at it is Jose is a team guy and he wants to win. The team needs TJ to figure things out and play good or we're fucked in the playoffs. At the end of the year if TJ is moved it's all good. If he's not then the team really doesn't think he's number one anyway.

Why would Jose stay if TJ is not moved.

One good reason other than Garbo.

He won't, but how on earth do you not keep him?

I think it's very rare in any sport for a starter to lose his spot due to injury. Jose played so well that the Raps were willing to break this unwritten code. Jose has to be their guy or they would've just did the easy thing and reinserted TJ back in the starting lineup when he was ready.

So If Jose is their guy why can he not finish whats he starts instead of comming in to clean up a mess.

I'm really confused why he didn't come in sooner yesterday, but he did come in with four and a half minutes left and the only four point Cav lead. Maybe TJ was being showcased to a team in need of a PG? lol

4 point lead or not..he was iced.

TJ reminds me alot of Vince in the, "chatting"with the other team sense..hopefully he can work his own trade out.

Here's what Doug Smith had to say.

Quote:
In a shocking, truly stunning development, you’re killing Sam for leaving T.J. in the game until the final 4 1-2 minutes. Oh, and killing T.J., too, and you know what, it’s really getting tiring.

The only other stoppage when he could have got Ford out was with 6:36 to go and Toronto down three. Of course, he left him in and all Ford did was drill a three and then another bucket to pull Toronto into a tie each time.

So, Ford played two minutes at the end of the third and 7 1-2 to start the fourth. I’ve got no problem with that substitution pattern.

Of course, that’ll set the letter-writers off, but that’s what we’re here for, right?

Can't wait to read the comments when I get home after practice.

Great but he doesnt leave room for the fact that Jose may have extended a lead, as oppose to us being down 3.

he really doesnt have a choice being a RFA, so as pissed as me might be now the situation will surely get dealt with in the next year or 2, so im not worried, he is a classy pro, he wont make waves.

Hey Bel the formula seems to correct when you watch TJ FORD as a raptor. Someone should smack his laugh as caught on the CBC right off his face, maybe take him out for the rest of the season.

In tonights game did anyone notice that when Jose comes off the floor he goes right to Ford and gives him a high five. When TJ Ford comes off the floor he completely ignores Jose. How does that make Jose feel , how does that look to the rest of team. TJ FORD is Cancer , " the team will not die because of the cancer but the complications caused by the cancer.
