Default as long as ddbust is here, will we not get a legitimate SG?

i was thinking about what potential trades we could do, and the sg spot was "the" position that most successful teams had their best player playing.

since freaking triano/bc want dd to develope, and thus start @ the sg position, would it be hard for us to acquire a good sg? if we want Bosh than we need another all-star player, scrubs like jose wont cut it.

dd is just a terrible player, we should trade him in a package so we can get a legitimate sg who doesn't turn the ball over like a maniac.

anyways, the question is essentially, can we get a better sg (all-star caliber) even with demar playing?

no. we have no real trade assets to trade for an all-star, and no cap room to sign anyone.

bdiddy/redd/butler + many more are available to us providing we get rid of caldy + his contract.

you do understand Bosh will bolt if we don't get another all-star type player right?

Demar defense gets better every game, his D on stuckey different points of hte game was impressive,

offense he can score the mid range, get in on transition, what more can we ask of guy 31 games into his nba career

lets not get choked when he doesn't perform and let him develop, its like the same with Bargnani all over again, people want instant results, well some players need time develop, thats just the way it is,

if people gave up on joe johnson after his start in boston then where would he be now

....are you serious?...really?....c'mon now, your calling DD a bust already after the first 31 games of his NBA career? you gotta be kidding me, he's a flipping ROOKIE! did you expect him to step on the court an all star?! he's going to have his ups and downs, ROOKIES ARE INCONSISTENT. Coming into the draft the scouting reports said he was raw and that he wouldn't be a beast right away, everybody knew that AND whats the point of having a top 10 pick oozing with potential and not try to develop him as quickly and efficiently as possible?

... when has dd done anything good? seriously, this kid has an awful shot and looks lost all the time. he freaking takes jumpers in transition when he should attack, and when he does attack he basically runs into the defender hoping to get a call.

huge waste, whats even worse is his attitude. "next air canada" please, he gets blocked by delfino and he has the nerves to say that.

i would definitely trade him in a package, to save bosh. if we loose bosh, we will suck for the next decade unless we acquire a great shooting guard.

wow its annoying when people use hindsight to prove points
sometimes its a good choice to pull up in transition
granted, he is athletic enough to finish at the net, but bulling his way to the net, with his weak handles, is a great way to increase his TO's which already have you riled up, so either way your going to hate on him
from the beginning we knew it would take him time to develop, so what we are seeing is really no surprise.
clearly every one here realizes we need more talent to persuade Bosh to stay
have you not seen one of the countless threads in which this has been discussed
the problem is that acknowledging that "we need an allstar-cailber sg" doesnt not translate into us actually having the assets to needed acquire one. at this point i can't see an injured Calderon and derozan getting us anything of substance. our players that are playing well aren't overly attractive, and our 'assets', save bosh, have been underperforming. so stop playing armchair gm unless you have some actual insight or tangible ideas to add. stating the obvious "we need another allstar" isnt really news to anyone.

I hate these threads, you guys expected dd to be a vince carter, but he has only gone through 1 year of college so he still needs time to develop his game. Plus he's a rookie you can't have high expectations, I'm still excited about dd's potential.

You mean the 0.9 times manner he turns over the ball? Less than once?

He's 20.

He ain't LeBron.

You let the kid play.

Anyone want to attempt to try a Haiku to respond?

Good Lord... a "bust" after 30 games?

I didn't even realize that was possible.

man, I couldn't disagree with you more over your entire post. He hasn't performed at a level that some people expected, but he isn't a bust. Triano doesn't run any plays for him. He needs to get to the gym and put up THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of shots still, get his form more solid and get rid of the leg kick. The kid (and I do stress kid) is 20, that is still ridiculously young. I think he has great potential just by his ability to pivot with the ball so effectively on his drives and his elevation on his jump shot. As I said before, eventually a top 6 SG in the league!

Just cause Demar doesn't look like Melo you can't give up on him mid season. Personally I'm not crazy for the kid but you have to go through the development process.

Dam its Christmas why are the posts getting Wierd... like Halloween wierd

He is only 20.. did you expect to see Labron James type of play
give him time to develop..

to criticize the play of a rookie is not fair at all
he is just now learning how to play basketball in the NBA, give him some time

Is it that time of month again?

The time of month when a random poster calls out our rookie who just turned 20 this year and labels him a bust already...

Why am I not surprised. So far, the Raptor "faithful" have called for the heads of most of our squad already, am I just old school or is patience a lost virtue?

Keep your heads people. Long season. Lots of opportunities. Demar has a lot of time to improve [and I'm talking about up until the playoffs]
