The London games

What up RF!

One week to go until the Raptors play the Nets in London, England.

How many of you will be there? I realize thet there are a lot of fans from Europe on this forum. Maybe even some of you guys are from London?

Does anyone know if the games are almost sold out? How much are people/the media talking about this over in the UK?

Can anyone tell me if the know what's happening around the games? Will there maybe be some kinda event where we can meet some of the players? anything happening thats related to the games you know?
I'm no stalker, haha, but does anyone know where the players will be staying?

It would be great to hear about your plans for next weekend if you're going to London!

I will fly to London on thursday evening and watch both of the games. This will be the first time I ever watch the Raptors live. Something I've dreamed about since I was like 12 years old.... So this is a pretty big deal for me :)

LET'S GO RAPTORS! :dancing:

Belsius 02-25-2011 06:29 AM

I was going to go but it turned out imposible for me for different reasons. Oh well.

there must be some information online. Isn't there an NBA european centered web page or something? I'd try to look it up, but i have to go to work in 5 minutes.

Deez 02-25-2011 08:05 AM

I'll drive the RF bus if you guys will all spring for gas. Be at the bus stop with an umbrella, and for God's sake, stop brushing your teeth. We don't want to look like tourists.

A close friend of mine and her fiance are going to be there ... I'll be watching for them rather than watching the game. :) Priorities, no? :)

Hahaha! Well.... I like football......... But skiing makes me fall asleep. So I like it when Sweden fail. Go Norway!

Back to topic, well I can't find much info on the internet about the game exept for what Mr. Mxyzptlk quoted... haha. NBA UKs Facebook gives us a little info every now and then but well... I am really looking for the UK guys on this forum that can give me more info than that Facebook page.

168 hours until the game starts! I can't wait!!:breakdance:

Rimpianto 02-25-2011 06:53 PM

I have close friends in London and I live between Rome and Edinburgh, but in this period I'm stuck in Italy :( but at least i can go watching Six nations match :dancing:

Anyway, somebody know if this is going to be a one off experiment or NBA wants to do it every year?

Peroti 02-28-2011 04:11 PM

I believe that they will be doing this every year if it works out well... I believe I read that somewere... I might be very wrong. haha. Might be me dreaming about watching NBA in Europe every year :)

Bankiz 02-28-2011 04:21 PM

i remember redaing somewhere that stern had say that can be in madrid or barcelona or paris next season, if this is a sucess !

moujik 02-28-2011 06:18 PM

The tickets were ridiculously priced at the beginning. Now It's come down to 28 upper tier, 44 level 1. In England! Where you can see a Premiership match in an authentic atmosphere for 44.
It's an event, it's not about basketball. Businesses can afford tickets, not the few basketballs fans there are in England. Personally, I didn't want to support greediness.
Another problem is venue's booking system is so retarded, that you can only choose level and not actual seats or even sectors.
NBA League Pass will have to do for me.

Wow, for real?! I did not know that... I bought my tickets the minute after they started to sell them!

In my face....

But anyway, I got great seats so I will probably be happier than the guys with cheap ass tickets anyway:dancing:

Crpe 03-01-2011 07:46 AM

I will attend the game on Friday ! At Level 1 with my purple and black jersey :)

Sweet!
I'll be at Level 1 at the game on Friday too. Upper level on Saturday. Keeps your eyes open for a guy in a red Sonny Weems jersey and a red cap. Haha
