One of them has to go if a starter is brought in at that position. Even Bryan mentioned that there was interest in Linas at the deadline but that his knee was a concern. We'll see if there is still some interest. In a way I'd rather keep AA at much less money to play behind JJ. If Kleiza isn't going to play much why not move him?

I wonder what #8/Bayless(S&T)/Kleiza could get us?

Or #8/Amir or Davis/Kleiza

Looking at pic #3 it seems like JV gained some weight, but in #4 he looks very skinny

The log jam of tweeners and PF's at the 3-4 spot will eventually need to be addressed and because both Kleiza and JJ both have parts of their game that somewhat demand time in a power forward type role, part of the problem can be solved by moving any of Ed, Amir, LK and JJ and to a lesser extent AB, though he's clearly shown the highest potential and this team needs his talent.

I like JJ and his defensive pedigree while LK has clearly not gotten all of his game back but that was to be expected somewhat given the nature of his surgery. This team needs a perimeter-oriented SF that can shoot, handle the ball and distribute and I'd think we may one of Amir/Ed moved before the others. LK and JJ might be able to increase their stock this coming year whereas I just don't see Ed and Amir getting enough minutes to dramatically increase theirs. Not saying they can't, but I just see both as very good bench bigs but somewhat redundant given size concerns.

I'm not a fan of relying heavily on undersized players but I do like LK and JJ's ability to play multiple positions. I'm sure Ed can get there and Amir already impressed me that he could at least hang at C while not necessarily being overwhelmed on most nights. JV is going to make it even tougher if all four remain. As weak as we are on the perimeter, it's crucial we parlay this strength into an opportunity to bolster our guard play.

He is one of the few Raptors that can shoot, he can play 2 different positions & plays with toughness.

Good guy to have on any team.

kleiza, johnson, johnson, and davis are all guys that would be good to have on any team, but that's just to many bench players in the same roles. one or more will have to go if we plan to get legit starters. you can throw Bargnani into this mix as well.

How did Bargnani show that he has the highest potential on this team when he was even worse than the year before when he came back?

I would say JJ showed the highest potential last year with his all-around play

JJ is great defender most of the time but i would say he is below average in offense, LK can score like no tomorrow (when he gets it going) hopefully he can be more consitent when healthy, and is alright defender. To me he is a good bench player... He sucks when he is trying to force his game (maybe because of his shitty dribbling) ,but he rocks when letting the game flow without forcing it. Imo he excels when playing like a spot up shooter, that way he make defenders to commit, and when they do he can power his way in to the paint and score. I would love to see what JJ and LK can do next year, but i doubt we can afford to wait..

kleiza can play, he is a great guy to have come off the bench, cleary we need to upgrade our starter at the 3 but i'm very comfortable with kleiza off the bench

also you have to remember its his first year back from microfracture surgery, so he will be better this coming year thats just a fact, every guy is better in year 2 after the surgery

Simply put he isn't needed, but JV is a valued prospect and if Kleiza could help him make the transition into the NBA easier than he has a role. If he neglects or doesn't want to accept that duty then get rid of him.

LK is much more needed than JJ as a player - and he is much more talented than what you give him credit for. Besides, it's not LK's job to hand-hold JV and he shouldn't.

In the end I wold rather have the offense and decent D coming off in the bench in LK and I'd rather see JV attach himself to the coaches.

a bit random, but fun fact imo JV has by far biggest hands in Lithuanian national team. In the competition made by one of the sponsors (pokerstars) JV was able to hold 165 poker chips in his hand

Yep. I've said the same thing numerous times since the season ended.

If I'm BC, I'd use the amnesty on Kleiza, as it makes the most sense since he's looking like the odd man out. Unless Amir or Davis get moved, and it opens up Kleiza to play the backup 3/4 role in small lineups, then theres no point in keeping him around with what, 2 years left on his deal? I cant believe we signed him to 4 years as is. Bidding against ourselves again.

Imagine you are a fan that actually pays for season tickets, Kleiza gives a show and occasionally can turn the tide with his aggressive offense. He is not afraid to drive into the middle ( take note Il Muggo) and plays D. I expect with a longer training camp and judicious minutes he is a keeper...
