Have to admit.... I'm eating some crow now in regards to Bargs.

Never though that I'd seen him look like REAL NBA C out there.....

These last 2 games have really, really impressed me. And that's because I feel like he's made a concerted effort to use his size more to his advantage.

No more floating around the arc.... no more looking completely lost on D....

He's posting up on offense more, manning up on defense more and just looking more INVOLVED in the games in general.

Can't say enough about the defensive effort on TD and D12.... and when you can play those guys 1-on-1 and NOT double them.... it's GOLD for your team.

He's actually making me really think twice now about trading him lol....

Good for him.

He's done this before though. I'll believe it when he keeps this up semi-regularly

The two bigs are providing something of an anchor on defense. That's a big step forward. I actually don't mind that Amir has to battle so hard for minutes now.

But you know what - every guy out there was working on the defensive end, for the most part. They didn't have the same energy in the fourth, and Bosh backed away from Lewis inexcusably, and Wright let Carter get two easy points that never should have happened. But aside from a few minutes, it was five guys battling together. They don't have the luxury of having one or two "stoppers". But then teams that over-rely on those types of players do nothing for me anyways. And if they all keep on playing that way, then some of these guys might become that much better to where they will be true stoppers. And Bargnani could benefit the most.

Bargnani has been playing amazing as of late.

One of the spectrum has been shutup by Bosh's play (Snoosh, PSI)... the other and is now being silenced by Bargnani's (me).

But.. it's a damn good feeling lol. Bosh and Bargnani = new twin towers!! WOO

Young big men take a looong time to develop and mature. The problem with Bargs was always prematurely high expectations based on his draft position.

My pre season prediction still stands. If Bargs and Bosh use their length and rotate on defence we can be a very good team, its just a matter of the perimeter D being more solid and them recognizing and being aggressive and quick in getting to the spot and using their length and quickness to cut off the lane. Theyve done this very well the past few games besides the Boston game, thus us winning.

That and we've played struggling teams. I'm still not convinced about the setup of this team, but if Bargs and Bosh continue to play smart defence like this we can beat any team on any night.

watching an episode of "real nba" right now to try to cure the insomnia and they're featuring guys like chuck hayes and brook lopez as the new centres of the future in the nba. love those guys, but no love for bargs.

I agree. He's playing like a *gasp* center? I only hope it is a regular thing for him. He doesn't need to be a 25 point all-star, just do the job that centers are supposed to.

nonsense. he looks fine. The unshaven look suits him. It works in a vlade Divac, Jorge Garbajosa kind of way.

And yeah - TO the light is definitely on. It's been on for a while.

I don't think the light is on for Jay. This is I think the third game where he's had his team very very very well prepared, and all guns were firing.

And then

He ends the game with Jack and Calderon again, almost ruining what was a superbly coached game.

He was ending the game with that lineup before the game started.
You would think going 7/7 and playing superb defense would get Derozan a glimpse of crunch time. Instead we see everybody else at his position get a little burn. If he's that untrustworthy on the court, why does he start???

Jay has appeared stubborn all season about quite a few things. This combo is going nowhere as long as both players remain Raptors.

I think Bargs sucess on offense has a lot to do with the way Triano runs play for him. Quick flashes to the top of the key were he's automatic and Jack and Jose are finding him on the drive. That's a lot how Dallas plays Dirk, quick flashes where he just shoots over other players when he gets the ball.

Wright is finally starting to establish his game and Jose is back. Amir is giving us great mintues off the bench and Weems can come in when he's called upon. If we works on his jumper in the off season though he will be a lot more effective. Belli is inconsistent and I think need more minutes to become productive. He needs some time to get warmed up and the way Jay plays him just keeps him cold all the time.

X-factors this season - DD's consistent jump shot, Wrights bench thoughness, Bargnani's defence and keeping no conlict between Jose and Jacks minutes.

Bargnani is really the player we need to produce. Bosh can have big games and we still lose, but when Bargnani does we usually are in games, or else we win.
