Anything more for Love than DD, Amir and 2016 pick, is madness.

No it wouldn't, JV is not going to bad defender much longer, in fact he is already average. And Love is not as bad as some make it seem

That would be so awful. A 7th pick and a 34 year old on his last legs for a top 10 player. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened because there's been worse trades, but man is that awful.

JV's opponent fg% is was 51% last year. Love's was 57%. He was among the worst at the PF position. That's partly the fault its MIN, but he still is not a good defender.

I'm not a big Kevin Love fan. I would prefer we upgrade this team defensively.

I honestly find it hard to believe that ppl only resort to the defence argument when refering to love. He isn't that bad of a defender that everyone makes him out to be, far from andrea/no clue where I am on the court level or harden I dont give shit ethic, so he is definitely not cancer on that end and could be covered up with effective coaching

I fail to understand why ppl just brush him like he's not worth it. Dude is easily the second best pf in the game who has the potential to surpass blake when he gets his shit together on a good team.

Lastly, are we forgetting that demar doesn't exactly provide that average defence as well because he defers to his offence. The way I see it is that if their defence levels out, love is on a elite tier offensively as opposed to demar's borderline all star kind of play. I would assume that a deal around love would involve demar so things wouldn't change defensively but would improve drastically offensively.

Giving up amir would be a major trade off for our defense, but I would rather have my defense focused on the wings seeing how that's the central source of offence in the current league with the development of Ross and a new stopper. It also depends on the development of JV to compliment love

Unfortunately it's extremely hard to bring in a perfect superstar outside of the draft via trade/free agency unless ur located in south beach. You bite on whatever chance you get.

Kevin Love is a bad defender because he chooses to go for rebounds instead of contesting shots. If he had a coach that demanded he do differently, who knows, maybe he could be average. But I think that speaks more to him being a stat padder at this point rather than being a winning player.

Also, he isn't a number one option on a good team. He's improved with his post scoring, but a majority of his points come off of pick and pops and screen plays, or offensive rebounding. He isn't a guy you can consistently throw it to to get you a bucket, yet.

ESPN did a blog about every team potentially making a deal for Love.
Quote:
Toronto Raptors

The deal: Trade Machine

Raptors receive: Kevin Love
Wolves receive: Jonas Valanciunas, Terrence Ross, John Salmons, No. 20 pick in 2014, Knicks’ first-round pick in 2016

It would leave the Raptors searching for a big man to protect the paint, but in today’s NBA, you could get away with a Love-Amir Johnson frontcourt against a lot of teams. The Wolves get the young assets they crave, the draft picks they need and the cap relief necessary to keep their options open. They’d have to move Pekovic next, and they don’t get rid of Martin's contract in this scenario, but it’s a good start to the rebuilding plan. This might be a lot for the Raptors to give up, but general manager Masai Ujiri can just fleece the next four trades he makes and even it all out.

If MU go that done (which I think is robbery) and resigned PP, Lowry and Vasquez I think we have a shot next year to make it to the east finals.

Having a starting core of Lowry, Demar, (insert VC/Ariza here), Love and Amir would be sweet.

Personally I think it would take DD+ Amir + 2016 first round pick,
Lowry + Ross+(insert VC/Ariza)+Love+Jonas aint too bad either.

His drg is 104, Wolves as a team 106, so they allow 2 less points with him on the floor. He also held opponent PF's to 14PER, 15 is leagues average. Im not saying he is a good defender, but i don't think he is as terrible as some say

An ECF appearance with a starting lineup that is 25, 26, 28, 29, and unknown is having no future?

I'm not saying it's a good move, but I just don't understand your assessment that making the ECF with a roster of players under 30 is having no future. How distant into the future would you be looking?

I do not believe love will stay, and anyways as my first post said a 2nd round exit is more likely with that lineup I think

I think he as referring to the ESPN suggested trade, which was an abomination (JV, Ross, filler, several 1sts).

that is fg% "At the Rim" He isnt a shot blocker. doesnt mean he is a terrible defender as a whole because he isnt the one to be the last line of defense.

Remember that the definition of defending the rim is taken as being within 5 feet of the rim and being within 5 feet of the offensive player.

This is not a determining factor as to if a player is a bad defender overall.

In fact some of these percentage points are attributed to the wings getting beat consistantly. Brewer and Martin played bad defense all year you cant expect Love to be the guy to help on bailouts.

Love was top 10 in the league with the fga's he met in that postiion as well.
