Chris Bosh: Could See Less Court Time Under Triano

Update: New Raptors coach Jay Triano says he wants to reduce Bosh's playing time to avoid burning him out, the Toronto Sun reports.
Analysis: "If we're going to play high-intensity basketball, Chris won't play as much," Triano said after being announced as the new bench boss. Bosh is averaging 41.4 minutes per game, topping last season's mark by over five minutes, but so long as he keeps his FG% up (currently at .535, which would be a career best) his production shouldn't take too much of a hit if Triano gives him more rest.

I guess if Jay's looking to change things up to be a little more uptempo it makes the most sense. Last thing we need is a burnt out Bosh.

if he knows how to make it work, then i fully support him.
I was expecting Bosh to burn out 1-2 months from now under Sam

If playing Bosh 40+ min for the next month earns us more wins, with the notion that we reduce his min in Jan, I think we'd have too.

And I don't think Bosh would argue against that notion.

WoooHooo. Hopefully Chris plays less minutes but I bet we will need him especially because half the time we need him on the court so he can keep us in the game

I expect to see Jay using the bench much more over the next few games... I think that he's really going to take a hard look again at who can contribute to this team and who can't.

Two guys that I think will experience a resurgence under Triano are Kapono and Humps.

kapono isn't on the coach - you don't draw plays from him, you get him the ball when the defenses are moving. it's up to bosh, o'neal, and most importantly Calderon to recognize him out on the court.

I say start Graham
make Bargs come off the bench and play the 3-4-5
give Bargs 25 a night and let him finish games when hes playing well
this will better our benchs contribution and let Bosh rest on the bench without coming back in the game down another 8,10,12

i think this is a good thing because it'll reduce the burnout and also gives JO more time in the prime position, right now we always seem to put JO on a tight leash, the team starts struggling a bit and we pull him out, he gets a couple fouls and we pull him out, the guy doesn't even get a chance to get into a rhythm and he's already trying to figure out what he's doing on the court when cb4 is there because that usually means cb is going to jack up most of the shots and JO gets the rest randomly and can't get into a consistent rhythm

i do hope he plays less minutes and remain that same efficiency.

aside from tiring chris out for the long haul with this 40+ mins right now. i think he's sacrificing his defensive efforts every game. he's relied on a lot on the offensive end that he's not even trying on contesting people defensively to prolong his energy. so i'd rather get a chris who plays less minutes, but puts effort on both ends.

and same story with jumpshooting. He drives less when he knows he has to conserve strength for the rest of game(s)

We'll agree to disagree then.

It IS up to Kaps' teammates to get him the ball... but it's also on the coach to implement some sets and plays that can take advantage of his skills.

CB needs to stop doing that lame MJ impression with the back faking and then turnaround fade that he obviously can't do, he might as well just throw the ball out of bounds if he's going to do that, then at least the other team can't rebound it and get on a fastbreak
