We can't post articles unless the sources are named...

Also, tell me why he would leave the Pacers when they are on the cusp of great things? I highly doubt Pacers would even give permission. Troy Weaver, really??I? This article is just speculative at best, and poorly done. 'Has to decide by Monday'? Says who, other than BC saying see ya I don't see a reason that it has to be this Monday - none at all.
He's not the top guy on the Pacers. Colangelo's job would be a step higher.

Exactly, same as before, the deadline won't change how they approach it. If they want more time they can just let the option go and not comment. MLSE has made it clear they are looking to upgrade and there seems to be a power game being played out internally and the media is getting tidbits. I don't think the option is an 'option' any more. BC has stated he wants a multi year contract now, as the option won't provide enough security - and everyone would just get to repeat this mess next year. I think MLSE wants a replacement, can't find one yet, and might be forced to either gamble and let BC walk or renegotiate a longer contract.

That's right, he's the GM and BC is President/GM - isn't TL taking that title back? I mean as of June 30th TL is President and CEO.

Of MLSE. He'll be the boss of bosses.

The Raptors will still have their own boss.

Someone mentioned Mike Zarren, don't know much about him other than he's the Celtics assistant GM and is a leader in advanced statistical analysis of basketball players and teams. Sounds intriguing though the thought of starting over kinda sickens my stomach.

If the first step is getting Andrew Wiggins, I'd be all for it.

A team with the pieces we have wouldn't need a total rebuild anyway.

these articles are making this whole process as embarrassing as it was when jack mccloskey was searching for a gm. the worse thing about this whole process now is that i doubt a single ounce of it's true. just seems like the reports have no idea of whats going on, so they're just speculating every scenario. they're embarrassing themselves, the team and the fans.

Build through the draft.....the organization is already on shakey grounds, undergoing another 2-5 years of taking is most likely out of the question (in the eyes of the fans, and especially MLSE). This team needs to start winning yesterday. We don't need to be a contender next year, but there is no way they just blow everything up and start the entire process over again. This team, as it sits, is good enough to make the playoffs, and I bet thats MLSE's number 1 objective right now......plus, unless were getting back to back to back top three picks, a straight build through the draft option is a huge gamble considering the ways that drafts go....and the whole wiggens thing will never, ever happen.......unless he comes here post rookie deal

I guess but to gut the team and gamble and not get Wiggins? And then spend the next 3-5 years continuing where we are? Ugh....

What if we win a spot in the lottery this year? Then no Wiggens regardless. Seems the odds of that coming to fruition is astronomical.

100%, this draft build and this Wiggins stuff - just doesn't make sense at the moment.

You guys act like a bunch of children. Be the bigger man and just ignore the other person. You're not proving anything besides that you're both stubborn as fuck.

I think there is some truth to some of it, especially them looking around. If they wanted to truely keep BC his option would have been picked up by now.

You don't plan to tank unless you're already the bottom 3 or in a season where multiple unfortunate things happen like season ending injuries to key players. Gutting the team when they're close to making the playoffs and becoming a competitor doesn't make sense. Wiggins doesn't guarantee anything. I hope he'll be great, but the Raps could easily have the worst record from tanking and still not get #1 overall.

As far as the article, just a lot of smoke in my opinion. The only thing I got from it is that the Raptors aren't close to making a decision either way and are fine with that. Also that Colangelo isn't gonna be bullied into resiging so he'll wait for a decision and continue his job in the meanwhile. The battle seems to be between whether picking up the option vs multi year deal rather than keep Colangelo vs hiring a new person.
