sooooo trying to take away a knick's trading piece in hopes of bring nash has been squashed. We have fields now.. i know that NYK's have till july 11 to match.. do you think he'll fit well on RAPS if we decide to keep him for the season..
i like field's game, i think he plays good defense and is pretty good at the 3 spot enough to start over whoever we have (james johnson?).. what do you guys think? you think fields will become a raptor or is he better off gone as a trade piece? |

his salary is not that bad, and I believe he will be a vital cog on our team. Casey knows how to make two-way players that are smart work. His last season is not reflective of what he can do whatsoever. I love it.

i'm pretty sure BC knew what he was doing and he wasn't just signing fields to block the knicks, he gave him a contract that he felt was worth his value no matter what was going to happen with nash

A willing passer and smart cuts to the basket. Two years @ 5 million and the last year can be used as a 9 million expiring contract. However, I wish the Raps had the cap space when they were trying for chandler at the trade dealine.

also i dont think we've had the chance to see fields ceiling due to melo possibly crashing his position on the knicks and possibly demoralizing him. i hope he continues to improve..
btw kinda off topic but when r the summer league games? |

Well, everyone knows that a highlight mix is the answer to all questions about a player, so I must post one.
But seriously, I think he was a decent player in a not-so-great situation. The Knicks roster turned him into a nobody there. If the Knicks match, he'll go back to being a forgotten guy. He's a smart and versatile player. And Casey said he values players with a high enough basketball IQ to grasp his system. I guess all I'm trying to say is that Javale McGee will never play here. ![]() |

With Fields, I hope he's smart and misused. I think he might have gotten carried away with being the toast of NY and forgot what got him there. In which case who knows where he ends up performance-wise? I just want the FT% to improve for sure, and the bible class pantomimes to stop, or it has a chance to be a signing I despise. |

isn't his contract spread out evenly over three years, so the cap hit is 6.66 million a year? while, if NY matches, THEY get the last year as a 9 million cap hit, i.e the poison pill. dan, little help?

And by the way, the Knicks have at least until the 14th to match. |
