Default Kyle Lowry: "It's my team now"

Quote:
"You know, honestly, when Jose and me (were both here), we were trying to win games as a team," he said. "Now it is my team. The burden of it being my team it definitely is the thing I always wanted. I have no problem with this being my team and having that pressure of being a point guard and everyone looking at me to make the team go."

Raps notebook: A day after the Gay trade - sportsnet.ca
Some interesting words there.... hmmmm.... could we be seeing more.... wait for it.... HERO BALL??

I'm pleased that he's willing to take on some big responsibility. I just hope that he'll continue to do what it takes (WHATEVER it takes) to lead the team to wins.

This team needs a leader. Maybe he'll be it.

I just hope he gets healthy and plays like he has the last 2-3 years. If he does this will be a fun team to watch.

We won games when they shared the ball and Jose had a lot to do with that, one can only hope Lowry learned a thing or two from watching how the team came together. No hero ball, if anything Rudy Gay should get the majority of the shots. I assume Lowry just means he's the leader in terms of being vocal etc..

10 shots per game is Heroball? lol

You're going to see Gay, Derozan getting 15-17 shots each per night once Bargnani is gone and Lowry getting roughly 12. Yeah, heroball.

I think he means as a PG running the team, not as the main option

Kyle's the PG so if Rudy wants to see the ball he'll toe the line and STFU.

Thats exactly what he means....the young fella's in here have short fuses.

I'm pretty excited about it all to be honest. It would be nice if Lowry and Amir werent literally limping around the court though.... this might be really fun otherwise.

Well he bought into the whole passing game when he was injured and Caldy took the reigns of the team. Its worked out for us. If we can follow that type of play style i think we'll be fine. There's gonna be some low big man assists now since Ed is gone

I just hope that Lowry can get back to feeling comfortable taking 10-12 shots/gm.

Said it before and I'll say it again... he's way too talented not to.

We will talk again when this team starts to average over 20 assists per game, again.
