seeing highlights from fields from his rookie year make me think he might have the higher upside.... what happened to that guy? What was he doing in that van that made him suck so hard?

Ross needs more consistent run, much like DD was afforded, and is still being gifted. Thankfully Triano made DD his boy toy!

NBA <link

Considering his start to the season he's close don't you think. Shooting high 30's from 3 and almost 50% FG% the last 7 games. And not sure anyone is an allstar very often for their defense.

you're very right about the last part, so that's in his favour.

Yeah let's trade DeRozan now, Val in 3 year and our pick this year in 2018.

At this point,in most scenarios a trade based around DeRozan will be a lateral move. If Ross was developing much quicker than he has been(at a Drummond rate),I'd be all on board but he hasn't so I don't think trading DD will make this roster better.

If DD is moved,a low post presence should be targeted. I don't know if something like DD+AJ+2017 1st(NYK's)+2nd(2014) would be appealing to Minnesota in exchange for Kevin Love(although he's not a low post presence) but I'd go for an impact player any how.

Greg Monroe is another player who Toronto should target if they were to move DD or RG

For some reason I have a feeling Monroe will be a Raptor a year from now.

I could see it also. I've seen our fanbase will players before like Belineli,Lowry and Gay more recently(a lot of chatter about how the Raps needed a SF like him prior to the start of last season) before so I don't think its far fetched to believe we can get a guy like Monroe.

I'd also like to see Tobias Harris,Andrew Nicholson(Magic) or Taj Gibson(Bulls) in a Raps uniform.

Even though I like Monroe and the prospect of JV and Monroe is nice, at the same time I don't think they'd be good enough defensively unless the wings were active and at least solid defensively.

i'm not against the logic of trade high; as others have said, it would have to be a very beneficial trade, i.e we're not looking to sell, make us an attractive offer.

but the idea that DD and Val can't play together is BS. DD isn't a chucker, certainly wouldn't be if gay was gone and this team actually moved the ball. Does the author want Val to take 30 shots a game or something!?

i've always said, inside-out is the way to play. that doesn't even mean you try and score in the post all the time, it means you bang the ball inside, move the ball and see what happens, be ready to kick back out again, whether that be lowry, amir or val. And take the scoring opportunities when they are there.

swap gay for a defensive expert who can hit the 3, (and change coach obviously,) and this would be a really good team imo. Wish lowry could play to what i believe his potential is, swapping PGs may become necessary when we've sorted the gay/casey mess. But yeah, i really think this team is close to being good.

no way !
the kid is high right now, but i really think he can go higher.
the start of this season is bad because gay is playing the selfish card. and that become a probleme.

the probleme isn't Gay.
i hope MU can get us marion our Wallace to start for the end of the season at SF.
two vet with defensive skill or even better get us Smith.

don't sell our two best young asset (DD and Val) to get prospects assets, even in this draft.

I feel much more comfortable that DD new 3 point shooting efficiency and his historical 45-46% fg% isn't a fluke (as opposed to Bargs learning to rebound) and this is not the same. But hey... you wanna trade everyone thats good after 13 good games because of Bargs, that's your deal

One thing is for sure, trading players who are playing for a terrible coach rarely turns out to be a winning trade.

Everyone? I would trade DD for the right deal and sell high, means I want to trade everyone to you?

Who haven't you suggested trading!!!!

Lol that you can you call me a DD fanboy?!!!! I have pretty much disliked his game every year until now, and only lately do I think he's finally started to show the player he can be.

Fwiw I would also take a great deal for him, but I just don't think trading him fixes the problem at all and we still have to trade Gay and Lowry and Fields... and get a new coach.

But please argue this is just like Bargs again cause I like that part.

So you were never a fan of DD but because of the last two weeks we shouldn't trade him. Instead we should trade players that won't fetch much? Yeah, that should help with the treadmill. Oh but we'll have capspace which has always served us well.

As for suggesting players to trade, there is nobody on this roster at this point that we have to keep. Not one player imo should be seen as untouchable and that includes JV.

In other words if a shitty team has a player who starts plying well, they have to trade him right away. Makes sense..
