In the olympics he was pretty much the main guy, or at least he had the freedom to take that role on. It was the case of having a system built more around him than he is going to find anywhere in the NBA. He did not have to be all that disciplined with his shot selection or decision-making. That could maybe work if he were to be handed a bench role something like what Barbosa had for a while, but it's not really the answer here. I could see D'Antoni thinking that way though.

I think he can be a Jason Terry, Manu Ginobili kind of player. Off the bench, for 28, 30 minutes, providing scoring when team sits Bosh and Bargs

I think it could be possible, although I don't put him at Manu's level. I just don't think that is the kind of role that would help this team the most right now. When he was here before it didn't work over the long haul, because he tended to fall into the habit of killing ball movement, or suddenly became passive. Finding that inbetween mix of a glue guy would be more preferential to me. But if he could bring the defense, and be able to create his own shot with some discipline, like a Ginobili, I certainly wouldn't complain.

I love your national team BTW. A great team to watch over the last few years.

delfino would be a great solution off the bench, but we won't be able to afford him, unless we get rid of kapono, parker or banks ...
