I dont see why we dont keep both of them. I like what they both bring and Johnson seems to be improving each month whereas Kleiza is just getting back to 100% after surgery. Honestly they're still developing so no need to get rid of them

i share most people's opinions on here, keep 'em both. They're both playing great. I'd be happy with them having around 24 mins each from now on. Prob with JJ starting. Most good teams have that defensive specialist guy, and the really lucky teams get a 2 way guy, like deng. If johnson can just improve that jumper, wow.

it does make us extremely stacked tho, with decent and potential players. So possible trades are fascinating. i love jose and DD and i really liked Ed last season but those are the guys who look tradeable to me. If we could make trades, drafts (possibly trade them on,) and FA signings (less likely,) that enable us to end up with an elite PG and maybe SG (if we do trade DD,) we could be looking at a great team.

Is Kleiza ever going to be healthy enough to get through a whole season?

I'd like people who want to move our players be less abstract. Most of the lottery teams want upgrades at all positions. I like JJ and Kleiza, and Ed, and Amir. Who are the go-to-guys you talking about?
Don't say Reddick, Walton, Von Vafer and such, it just makes me laugh.
Say, we get JR Smith and Chandler, there's no guarantee they will perform at the level they did in Denver, because Karl is an attacking genius, and Casey is one dimensional.
Ed Davis has improved significantly on pick'n'roll D, so let's just cool it and wait until after the draft to make moves.

agree with the last sentence but not much else.

I think most people are happy to wait a while longer, we're just discussing possibles.

it was reddick, wafer AND a 1st round pick! we probably couldn't get much better.

yes, ed is a good player, that's why we're discussing trading him! nobody wants our crap players! Ed's position is where our best player is playing and although Ed arguably has more upside than amir, amir can do a similar job to Ed. Trading Ed is logical. Let's discuss possibilities whilst not necessarily saying trade him right now.

Give him a break he just came back from potentially career ending injury. Dude can't be forced to play so much yet, especially having in mind that we don't really need him to Acording to Kleiza he should be fully recovered and ready to play 100% next season.

And there's no certainty that he will ever fully recover. Johnson is two years younger and had never had a major injury. If it came down to choosing one of the two, I think that would certainly swing the pendulum in Johnson's direction.

Kleiza not play 1 year, and after long rebilitation become very important Raptors player. Its hard to believe how good can play Kleiza if healty 100%? You need give him credit, because its very talented player who can shoot 3 points, play in SG, SF and PF position. Klaiza very good play one vs one in close range.

Yeah, dribbling sucks, but anyway i think after bargani its best Raptors player

really right now its just the 2 of them, so i don't see how we can't keep them both, in fact i don't see how we can part with either of them if we don't have another SF type player coming in

I don't think we're talking right now. More so next season when BC said he wants to upgrade that position (starter).

If we get Barnes/MKG one will have to get moved.

And if we draft a SG one will probably have to be dealt anyway because we'll either start Derozan at SF (BC said he might) or the SG would backup DD and we'd then look to aquire or sign a starting SF. IMO there's no way around it, one will be moved and if Kleiza can stay relatively healthy the rest of the season he'll be the one to go, since i think they love JJ's D off the bench. And if he doesn't stay healthy and we can't get a good enough return i wouldn't doubt them amnestying him (LK).

There is going to be plenty of movement on this team.

We know 4 or 5 one year contracts are gone, and it's not to be replaced by other tank players. But they can't pay everyone and leave guys eating cap space sitting on the bench.

Bargs playing PF with both Amir and Ed totalling, 8.2 mil as back ups with limited minutes?

Then a new SF being paid with Kleiza and $7.5 mil backing him up with limited minutes?

I'd pick up Gray as a 3rd string C for 1 mil, that's it for the 1 year contracts.

Other than that, upgrading is key. And I'm not talking about guys like Ray Allen and Steve Nash, who would be here short term before fading and retiring, i.e. not a part of the long term rebuild.
