Great deal @ a reasonable price. Might even end up starting. Now, if we only had coach capable of instilling team defense concepts...

Having actually read the link, I'd rather avoid using the word "officially" prematurely. Remember, Jordan is lurking in the shadows...

Hey, welcome to Linas Kleiza Day!

Denver's window to match the Raptors' offer sheet expires tonight and The Nuggets are not going to match.

a quality that's been severely lacking on this club for a long time

can get out and run
great 3 pt shot
loves to go to the basket (regardless of traffic)
not afraid to bring a little "nasty" to the game

quality signing by BC

Great get.

Small world..was originally traded for Jack...

How many current Raptors can say they have scored over 40pts in a game?

I'd be happy with a guy that could shut down a 40 pt scorer. Or even just be able to defend more than just his own cover a little bit. Here's hoping. Because they are going to need to score off their defense if they don't want to look absolutely horrible this season.

I believe the answer to that question is 1.

I'm just happy they signed a guy that won't fall down when he gets breathed on taking it to the rack.

Kleiza is a tough kid.

I doubt they'd have a presser for him "again", as Doug Smith points out in his blog. I just want to hear that Nuggets have officially declined to match our offer.

heh.

His interview last week with the Raps cap was classic, he seems like a bit of a bad ass

he'll be good for the young guys.

They are more tough when there is tough leading them.

Bosh instilled no toughness on his mates.

Not that Kleiza replaces CB4, he doesn't, but he does bring a little to the table that was lacking.

Amir and Davis will more than replace Bosh's "defense" this season, and the rest of the team will take care of distributing the extra shots while keeping the ball moving.

I know there are some asking about news conference thingies with the new dudes, Linas Kleiza and Leandro Barbosa.

Not going to happen.

We got all the time we’re going to get with Kleiza when we ran into him – nudge, nudge, wink, wink – the day he signed his offer sheet. (And here’s the result of that conversation).

And Barbosa, I’m told is back in Brazil and they aren’t going to bring him up.

So it’ll be training camp, or maybe in Turkey late next month, when we next get words.
Doug Smith's Toronto Raptors blog

OK so no press conference, perhaps only an announcement

D.Smith blog brought up a comparison that makes sense

Kleiza is much like Kris Humphries.
Scorer first, tough and gritty and an undersized 4
Comparison favors Linas of course, who is more mobile, can dribble and shoot 3. Then again Kris had to play backup center.
Anyhow I am not sure if he can be starter. If only for spot minutes at start, spending most of the time backing up Amir.
