Default Kleiza done for the season

Quote:
If you’ve thought you’d seen the end of Linas Kleiza this year, turns out you might be right.

In a little chat before the game, he told he’s been told by the coaching staff that he’s not going to get in a game between now and the end of the season.

Sure, he wants to play -- “I’m healthy and ready to go” – is how he put it but he also understands. And he’s not at all going to rock the boat.

“This organization and the franchise have been great. They let me get healthy with no pressure. I understand what’s going on.”

Kleiza’s next action is likely to be at the European championships for Lithuania this fall in Slovenia. Whether he’s back with Toronto next season – he’s got two years left on his deal – is something Bryan has to decide this summer.

Seems like he's been done every season since he joined, 2 more years? Yikes...

Don't worry, he's going no where. In the European Championship he'll average 20ppg, lead Lithuania to the final and you'll be high on him once again!

Has he even played more than 30 mins this season?
He was done for the season even before the season started.

2013-14 is his final season under contract and it's a 4.6mil Player Option which means he may opt out and test the market or go back to Europe.

My guess is that we end up amnestying him. Doug Smith, i swear.......

I'm curious, if he opts out (4.6mil) and we amnesty Bargs (11mil next season) if we can't get anything for him how much under the cap will we be?

if you seen this movie then you know you'll want him to give another shot as a raptor, because no one would opt out 4,6milly because he wouldn't get even half of that if he signed anywhere else.
BC will wait to see how Linas plays in EC and after that he'll decide what to do: amnesty Kleiza or Amir, BECAUSE HE'S NOT GOING TO AMNESTY BARGS, or anyone...

Let's be realistic here, who walks away from 4.6 million?

Both Bargs and him make the team worse. WORSE, not 'slightly better' or keep up with the pace. Visibly worse. When Kleiza is healthy, he's OK at best. He's no where near worth his contract, he chucks more then AA, he's slower then AA, and he's not a good defender. He's not athletic. And it's a stretch to say he's good on offense, even when he's healthy. His best here was 11 points for 11 shots. Really? Get that shit out of here.

If he's done with the Raptors, I'm sure everyone (-Minus the Liths on here) will be more then happy. When I read that he's done, I was just as happy to hear when Bargs was done with the season. I give no shits about either of their careers with Raptors. Harsh? IDC. He has a tough attitude, that's about it. And if he does good in Euro, stay there.

Obviously a player that knows he could get more. That's not him, unless a euro team wants him bad enough.

Also, if he could get say a 3yr/10 contract would he be tempted to opt out knowing his knees are garbage?

How many Canadians play for the Raptors? Lithuanians - 2. You're just jealous
