Anyone listening to the fan....

...they just played a clip of Kenny Smith going OFF on the fans of Toronto....He is sooooo ignorant...I wanna punch my radio.

Somebody find the clip must be on the web somewhere.

wow. I like this guy, but he is just saying things that are not true. Parker having a good year? I mean Parker has been average at best.

Yeah, Parker was definitely better last year, but Kenny is sort of right. We focus alot of attention on the negatives more than we do the positives. I mean every Raptors message board is pretty much indicative of this. We never seem to be happy.

Poor poor Toronto. I can't even try to find the clip, I'm weeping too much, and I mean with the kind of sobs that cause hyperventilation.

There are some pretty dumb fans in this city, especially at the games. But the idea is to have fans. So I won't complain too much.

Collectively I agree with this and it's the main reason I've bounced around Raptors' message boards like Paris does mattresses.

Raptors' fans as a group tend to suck the fun out of following their team by being very aggressive yet defensive, challenging everything that is said and over-reacting to the most insignificant details and ignoring the bigger picture...not to mention lacking patience. I've never seen a more combative fanbase willing to throw each other under the bus so quickly. The worst part is sometimes it gets so tense it's hard to avoid jumping onto the pile..

It's because we're passionate SWAN. Doesn't matter where you go forum wise, they'll always be nay-sayers. The tough part is for those nay-sayers to not be overly negative where it becomes pure hatred. I know a few Raptor posters that are borderline hatred now-a-days.

No wonder the impression of most Americans is like this. I think the fact players from overseas are now more abundant now in the NBA is kind of saving us from being a below average team for years to come. If the Europeans/South Americans weren't playing here, who knows how horrible this team would be.

If it's worth anything, i'd say that realGM Raptors posters are the ones who give the general fans in Toronto a bad name. Every now and then, i'll pop in there just to see what people are talking about and EVERY single thread screams over-sensitivity, defensiveness, and negativity in general. Seeing as that's the site that seems to get the most publicity, i guess we can thank them to a degree for this reputation.

That being said, if Smith was being a jackass like Benzo mentioned, he can go fuck himself then. Nothing i hate more than media personalities thinking they're hot shit like some of them do.

and to admit that he doens't watch raptor games... doesn't that make his opinion rubbish from the get-go?

We're passionate and care about our team. We may go overboard sometimes but thats because we care so much and want to win so bad.

Kenny Smith has really started to annoy me this year on TNT. The years before he was excellent but this year its like hes trying to be more like Barkley and trying to do his shtick. Difference is Barkley is honest in his assessments, Kenny has been forcing his negativity for whatever reason.

Did Chuck interview him or?

Come on, at the end of the day Toronto is a hockey town 1st, altho im more of a basketball fan many consider the leafs to be their #1 team... so they bring the same attitude that the leafs have instilled in their fans for 40 years +.... we cant win, we have too many holes, we expect results now, it will all fall apart soon etc etc etc its a cycle thats hard to break, and besides a couple years of the jays being great this city is used to being critical and losing (i dont count the CFL cuz most ppl in toronto dont care about it. So really i think its just a losing attitude we have, somewhat like Boston fans used to have.

Too many cross over Leaf fans as Raptor fans. Quick to boo when the team is down but also quick to cheer when the team is up.

True story - fan (Season Ticket holder) in front of me cheers for Andrea everytime he makes a shot but whenever he misses, its, "You Suck!". What's that all about? Expect the guy to make 100% of his shots?
