To me DeMar would simply be irrelevant in that scenario. It's like picking between Melo and Paul George and having Wes Matthews enter the discussion somehow. If for example I have the no.1 overall pick, I would just choose the player that I like the most. I wouldn't fuck around and think about DeMar. These are franchise changing superstar caliber prospects.

Anyway, I think no such trades would happen. There's so much risk involved and DeMar is a small time asset in comparison to those prospects. No GM will want to risk and look back 5 years later to find out that he traded LeBron for Melo+DeRozan.

Derozan is not just a throw-in. He can be your short-term franchise player while your top pick learns the ropes of the NBA. Compairing him to Wes Matthews is just silly.

Now if Wiggins was guaranteed to be the next coming of Lebron then yes, Derozan doesn't matter. But right now people can't even decide if he's worthy of No. 1....

Derozan should prove first if he's a franchise player? True. But so does Wiggins. He hasn't even played one minute with the pro's.

well demar had a great game, it was great advertising, amir played well, derozan, and lowry,

just to put it out there if we have another losing season don't you think demar is just going to ask for a trade eventually, how much losing can one player handle, at this point the right thing to do is to move him especially now that masai has committed to the rebuild,

so trading demar for a draft pick is the right move in my opinion,

I'm surprised so many people are only thinking about Wiggins. When in fact, we really should be thinking get the best player available period. If that Parker then we would have to take him, should we end up with a high pick. Trading Demar to get one when you can have the other is ridiculous. There's no guarantee these guys will be even as good as Demar or reliable.

All I know is Demar is one of the few players that actually want to play here.
I'm not opposed to trading him for a draftpick it's just that I think a mid first round pick is not enough. It is however for Wes Matthews.

Demar is the definition of mediocrity. I wont lose sleep if he gets moved for a first rounder.

Hehe. Just don't say that on the Blazers forum, unless you are wearing a helmet.

Kyle Lowry + Hansbrough for Marquis Teague + Filler + Charlotte's 2014 First Rounder

That should be pretty close to a lottery pick.

if dd, amir or jv go for a bubble lottery pick i'll lose my mind. no way we're getting a player anywhere close to the calibre of those guys at #14 overall, or in free agency at a similar price. anyone else can go, but i wouldn't trade those guys for anything but #1-3, and we won't know that until the lottery. so, no thanks.

lowry? ross? th? any of the kings fodder? no problem. bot not dd, amir or jv. please.

I was thinking about that, but imo they will want more. Most likely a scorer at SG, if we can make a 3 team trade and replace TH with cheap SG this would be awesome

Maybe flip him to NY for Tim Hardaway Jr?

I'd dump anything outside of JV, DD for an extra single digit-area lottery pick.

Yeah, it's the right direction, although the Charlotte pick seems too much for a rental.

This only makes sense if we trade Derozan or Amir for a mid or late lotto first, because it's really hard to imagine a team trading a 2014 1st for a 1/2 year rental of Lowry, unless Masai really does have compromising pictures of that GM.

In either case, I think we'd need a decent or good prospect back with that 1st round pick in exchange for those guys. Something like Fournier and one of 1st round picks DEN owns for Derozan.
