Default Kapono: A Player GM's Should Call About

Hmmm .... Hoopsworld is stretching a little bit right now, because I sincerely don't think there's a whole helluva lot of takers out there for Kapono and his contract right now.

There's no doubt general managers around the league haven't forgotten how Kapono contributed to Miami's title in 2006-07 and won't hesitate to drop a line up North to inquire about his availability. If not, they should.

Cool.

On a side note, where are all the 3 point shots he was supposed to be getting under a new coach, in a new system?

I dont really care how the statistics are spun, if it makes Kapono an attractive option for a team out there, thats great. Anything that can be done to get rid of this travelling clown the better, shame the stats cant be manipulated to make Moon look good.

Still in shipping, yet to be delivered to the Raps... it's packaged with players' hears and ability to play defense... I hope it arrives soon otherwise their season is done.

Dunno... guess we should've kept Sam and kept using JK as our "4th Q defensive specialist".

Listen bud, I'm not the one that went on and on and on about how he would flourish under Triano.

I guess it's true, you can't make shit shine.

Maybe.... I hesistate to say that he's "shit" though since he thrived in MIA and could prob thrive on a better team.

Maybe Jay just can't figure out how to use him. Maybe I was wrong.

Maybe he needs two dominate players like Shaq and Wade to play with.

Kapono can be useful to any team but he is not a starter nor is he worth the money he's getting.

Maybe lol....

I think that it's very difficult to integrate "specialized" players onto a struggling team.

This probably isn't the best spot for Kapono after all.

pshhh... Fuck a Kapono... Open 3 Point shots missed doesn't go good in anyone's books... accuracy and consistency would make him much more better

I really fault Colangelo.

Our more than adequate three point shooting team desperately needed toughness and rebounding on the wing, not another shooter.

The problem in getting Kapono open 3's is the fact that our three dominant offensive players play out of the high post. The best way to get good looks from deep is to play inside out. The Raps hardly ever have anyone on the low block to draw the double team. Watch- even J.O. catches the ball father away from the basket than he should. It's awful crowded around the 3-point line with the guards and Bosh, Bargnani, Moon etc. cramping Kapono out there. Not to mention no one on the team seems capable or willing to set a decent screen. The guy can't get open. Even Parker's pocket 3's seem to be diminishing. Our offensive sets blow. It's one thing I thought would change under Triano.

I can't argue with that.

I was shocked when I found out how much we were paying him.

Pietrus would have been SOOO much better I think.

Trade him to New York for Jared Jeffries. Same contract, but Kapono would do better with D'Antoniball and we need some defence at the wing.

Pretty much

When you have all big and wings who can only catch and shoot, you should be able to run inside out and take advantage of doubles easily. Only problem is Bosh and JO are jumpshooting face-up guys who suck at recognizing doubles and passing out to the open man.
