Kapono to Boston?

A writers roundtable article was written at SI.COM and they suggested that Boston should look at trying to aquire Jason Kapono for Brian Scalabrine & Eddie House + a conditional draft pick. Seems like alot to give up for Kapono, no?

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ndtable/1.html

If Colangelo can pull this off then pull the trigger on a JO trade, i'd be happy. But this is highly far fetched speculation.

WOW. Do I see it happening, probably not. I don't think Scalibrine can be too productive for us. Eddie House can play at the back-up 2 gaurd. And Jeff don't forget the conditional pick we will get

Question is would Eddie and Scalabrine mind being basically demoted from; pretty much guaranteed to repeat (Championship), to a team struggling to pull off 3 wins in a row?

Who gives a fuck if they mind? Plus, as they say it's a business. And if this is one of a few moves that can improve this team, we'll be in the playoffs. But the problem in all of this is that it's just something thrown out there, a suggestion basically! Ain't gonna happen.

Does the name Alonzo Mourning and Buyout mean anything?

I wouldn't even care if House opts out. Then we have AP, BC would probably keep him and let his contract expire, then House leaves?? and most of JK's contract is also off the books (combined 9 million). Then if JO is still here (doubtful) you have a huge expiring contract to trade for a starting 2/3 and depth.

Anybody is better than Kapono. The guy doesn't fit he did not do well under Smitch's system nor is he doing any better under Triano's. At the beginning of the season when we played half court offense he didn't do anything special and now with the offense in motion he is just as bad. Unforced turnovers, traveling and even his forte (shooting) is no longer there.

I doubt this trade will go through, however the only moron who might be dumb enough to take him is Kerr, especially if Shaq plays up Kapono. But like I said anything is better than Kapono.

It always kills me when someone gets picky with who we get in return for someone like Kapono or any other crap player we might trade. lol

If BC get's this offer he shouldn't even hesitate, pull that trigger fast and try to keep your gittyness to yourself.

Kapono=10-11. I don't want a contract running past 2010 unless it was Calderon's.

Red Auerbach always said dont take a player and just trade him for whatever you can, but instead pick a player you want and see what you need to give up to get him.

I agree with Raptorfan27 in that making this trade wouldn't really improve the team but would be a move made simply for the sake of making a move.

Brian Scalabrine with his higher brain functions and benchwarming ability would not help us. House would not be much of an upgrade over Kapono. He does plays with a chip on his shoulder which is good, but he's kind of a chucker. And if its Boston's 2nd round pick it would probably be worthless.

And don't undervalue Kapono, he's playing badly right now, but when he was on his game he was really good and still could be if he is used properly.

I'm not saying don't trade Kapono, but make sure the deal will definitely improve the team.

Kapono can play well when he's on a good team, see Miami.

Looks like Boston desperately wants some clutch outside shooting since Posey left.

I hope the conditional pick is in the first round

I'd take House over Kaps straight up if the salaries worked
