Aside from all the hype was Davis much more worthy to be named 1st team than JV or Drummond?

Drummond should've been first team, jv was good all year but wasn't really great till toward the end of the season. Plus he was out with injuries during the year.

I would leave the injuries out of it, if you're talking about JV, Drummond and Davis. All of them missed more than 15 games. In fact, Drummond missed more than JV. So it's better to base decisions on the other factors.

Anyway, first team or second team, it doesn't really matter. The important thing is that JV didn't shit the bed during his rookie season. These teams are frequently picked based on stats and playing time, and thus don't entirely reflect who will be the best players in a couple of years.

FYI, in 2011, Landry Fields and Gary Neal were first team all-rookie, while Paul George, Greg Monroe and Derrick Favors were second team. In 2010, James Harden was on the second team. In 2009, Marc Gasol, Kevin Love and Eric Gordon were second team, beat out for first team by Mayo and Beasley.

Davis was 2nd in rookie of the year voting so yes, he is definitely more worthy

.....Really, is that how you decide who is a better player?
Stats are fairly similar of all 3, but imo JV and Drummond had a bigger impact than Davis. So no I would not say ''Definitely'' more worthy

are you serious? Davis was the best or second best player on a team that nearly won as many games as us (until the last month we were basically tied).

JV was awful the first month, missed the next two months and only started to heat up in the last few weeks, and even then, Davis was better, at least on paper.

Haven't seen too much of AD, but purely based on stats, it's not even close. I have a much bigger issue with lilard though, to me he was a typical case of a chucker on a bad team - I truly doubt he'll be a top 8 player in this draft year (career wise).

Drummond was the best rookie hands down, and if not for Frank limiting his minutes and his injuries, he would have won rookie of the year imo. I think five years from now it will be Drummon/Waiters/AD/JV/Beal/Barnes and everybody else way behind. Although I hope ross will prove me wrong

Not saying he was bad by no means just said that he was not miles better than either JV or Drummond

JV wasn't awful, as far as I remember we were all fairly happy with him, and after the injury he came back and played just as good as either AD or AD (just my opinion)

This really doesn't help to prove your point..
You say that AD was best or second best player in Hornets, yet you take away credit from Lillard for being one of the best players on a shitty team? IMO Lillard was 100% worthy to be a ROY a real stud!

Certainly don't agree with that and honestly, Drummond's minutes were limited for a reason. You're making it sound like Drummond is the second coming of Shaq but he's not and he won't have that kind of impact. I would suspect he would be lucky to stay on the floor, not just in crunch time when it matters, but also when teams go small and have a stretch 4 who he will have to attempt to stay in front or guard him on the perimeter - not happening.

yes, i would say so. voters take into account a lot of things and i find it ironic u refer to stats being similar. and no, they aren't similar if you really want to compare. Davis' efficiency this year is one of the best for a rookie of all time.

just because one player was voted first team and another was voted 2nd team does not make one miles better than the other.

your initial question of what makes davis more worthy of being 1st team than either JV or drummond is just the simple fact he had a better season. he really did. no ones saying he had a MUCH better season than the other 2.

see saying " definitely more worthy" makes it seem that you are suggesting that Davis is much better..
