Davis averaged 3 more points than JV per 36 (mainly because he had better start) other than that JV was pretty much better or equal at everything else

Yes. AD was better than Jonas this year. AD was 2nd in ROY voting for a reason

slightly surprised Barnes has made it - but only slightly. i had Drummond and Jonas both ahead of him.

Did Ross get any votes?
Don't worry about JV ... he will be fine.

another classic case of always drafting talent over needs. man, drummond and jv front court would be dominant for years to come and amir first big off the bench.

BC's mistake with Bargs and his stubbornness to correct it and cut his losses has cost us is so many ways

It would be difficult to compare those 2 as Davis played PF and Drummond/JV played C so I tabled below where they rank stat wise for their position; as well as their rookie rankings. When you look at them, I personally can see why JV came after Davis and Drummond. On a per 48 basis Drummond is 2nd best over all for centers though he has a ways to go to be more consistent (as any rookie). A.Davis was 4th overall for the per 48 but also for averages - and that is very impressive. Davis was also extremely efficient and had a tremendous impact on the outcome of games than the other 2. Also just to throw out there, as some question Lillard's claim to the ROY but he was definitely, statwise anyways, the better player playing the hardest position. Lillard was 11th overall for pg averages and for a rookie to do that is fantastic.

If the award was based on the last few months of the year then I would say JV accelerated his play extremely well and out played many but the award is for the whole year.

I know there is much more to it but let's check the stats:

Rookies) Rank based on Per 48 minutes
1. A.Drummond
2. A.Davis
7. J.Valanciunas
15. Lillard

Rookies) Rank based on Averages
1. A.Davis
2. Lillard
3. A.Drummond
5. J.Valanciunas

Rookies Rank based on Totals
1. Lillard
2. A.Davis
6. A.Drummond
8. J.Valanciunas

Centers) Rank based on Per 48 minutes
2. Drummond
47. J.Valanciunas

Centers) Rank based on Averages
24. Drummond
29. J.Valanciunas

Power Forwards)Rank based on Per 48 Minutes
4. A.Davis

Power Forwards) Rank based on Averages
14. A.Davis

Point Guards) Rank based on Averages
11. Lillard

Drummond/JV - even if they couldn't co exist together 1 would have been certainly tradeable. Although looking back, almost everyone was saying that picks 8-14 were equal talent, just pick your position. Not sure why everyone is so quick to right off TR for Drummond though. TR slammed into that rookie wall, next year will certainly be different as it will for Drummond when teams aactually start to consider AD as some type of threat.

i was saying if you looked into the stats you'll see in fact the 3 aren't that similiar and that Davis' efficiency was through the roof. and you went into more depth and laid out the stats

Agreed.... same when we could have taken Jrue.... uggh, that's going to haunt us for the next decade. Colangelo effed us.

totally different situation. drummond was taken one pick after ross and at the time it was the general agreement that BC reached for ross, although not to the same ridiculousness as reaching for an arujao but still a reach. what made that pick even more puzzling was ross was neither the best player available nor was he filling a position of need.

demar was the 9th pick and jrue was the 17th and at the time we had jack and calderon. there were no problems with that pick at that time. no one was jumping out of their seats saying why did we take demar with jrue available. but there was quite a few saying why take ross with drummond available.
