JV is the best player on the team.

1. JV
2. Demar
3. Lowry
4. Bargnani

So then by that same logic 1 really really bad shooting game should not be a reason to bump either.

Sort of contradicting yourself, saying I shouldn't use a small sample size.

Small sample size?

Bargs has been sucking for YEARS.

JV has been solid pretty much this whole time. The more minutes he's getting, the more he produces.

honestly at this point i would be satisified if we trade Bargnani and only get a late 1st round, early second round pick back. This guy is far to inconsistent and never looks like he cares. Shoots lights out one game then goes 2-19 the next, you can not have this guy on a playoff team. At least JV brings it night in night out along with derozan, and lowry.

He's a seven footer who can't rebound, and on nights which he can't shoot (which is more than half) he provides no value. Maybe we can amnesty him?

-In the games where Jonas hasn't had early foul trouble he has looked really good, and yes is pretty consistent night in and night out

-Derozan is far from consistent, looked pretty good for a stretch of games with Lowry, then sort of went into stealth mode the last 2 games, but picked it up again tonight. If you consider getting 29 points on 28 shots a productive night?

-Lowry has been our best overall player, however the last 3 games we have seen some really alarming tendencies: Chucking early pull up 3's with lots of time left on the shot clock, and sometimes failing to get others involved in key situations.

I don't know if there is a single player on the team who has been consistent all throughout the year, but Jonas probably comes closest.

Can we just pretend Jonas was selected 1st overall in a draft, and Bargnani with the 5th pick in another? That makes it better, no?

JV has the x factor,

i can't believe how good he is, the guy has it

he's actually making andrea expendable, if jonas can score the ball more, especially the way he handled duncan, then i don't see why not we can't move andrea for a 3,

JV gives me hope one day we'll be running the offense through him and our other players won't have to struggle so much.

He's played well, he's already the hardest worker and if not the best player on this team.

As for bargnani, if he can put together back2back solid games on the road, his shooting performance against the Spurs will be forgotten. He was beasting before yesterdays dud

I wonder if the rules today allow for center domination like this. The checking rules in particular.

He better start sucking a bit or Colangelo will get a contract renewal based on JV's performance.

I'm not gonna jump the gun and join the bandwagon of Bargnani haters just because he had the worst shooting performance of his life. The season hasn't even reached the quarter mark.

There's no rules or regulations that state you must conform with the opinion of other posters. If that was the case there would be no point in debate and this place would be extremely dull and tedious.

Considering the fact that the rest of our team can't score for shit, that he was 7/8 from the stripe, had 7 rebounds, 3 steals and only 1 turnover...I'd call that a productive day. The kid was hustling. He's been hustling all year.

DD has actually been fairly consistent. He's had a few stinkers but for the most part he's been scoring well, rebounding well, getting to the line and TAKING CARE OF THE BALL. 1.6 TO's per game for the year.

Re: the Derozan FGA/scoring yesterday

There were a couple of drives during which he was hacked, but the refs put their whistles away (they did the same to the Spurs a bit late in the game). I don't blame Derozan at all for those particular missed FGAs. He had the right idea by trying to get to the rim. On another night, he probably shoots 12 or 14 free throws after playing the same way. Playing the exact same way he did yesterday but getting the calls, he could just as easily have scored 33-35 points on 25 shots, because 3 of those FGA would have been erased and instead would have been him at the line getting an extra 4-6 FTAs.
