Not that I agree with Wright, but if I'm Triano, I make the starters end what they - for the most part - created.

It's 5 games in 7 nights. He has got to stop thinking of himself, not leave his teammates out there hanging, tie up his $500 shoes and get out there. I haven't even had a problem with Wright but I'm getting offended just thinking about it.

I hope he just had a tummy ache and it made him momentarily deaf.

Scrubs don't want to sit on the bench for bad teams because it's bad for their career. But that's always someone else's fault. They just have it out for you. "Coach just doesn't like me. I'm better than those guys".

professionalism takes the backseat to personal dignity. i've seen wright play enough to know that he puts forth effort to deserve a role beyond cleaning up the little effort given up by the rotation. good for him for not smiling, laughing or being happy about having his number called.

As for Julian Wright. Good way to be a professional ass clown. You have zero offensive game that others respect and you're gonna dictate when you come in? Really? I'd get if it was Kobe or Lebron, but Julian freaking wright? Enjoy your career in Europe.
I pretty much completely disagree with your first point, but completely agree with your second.

Since Jay Triano has taken over, we have been THE worst defensive team in the league. When he first took over from Sam Mitchell, he didn't fare well for the rest of the year, but used the excuse that "I didn't have a full year's training camp". The very next year, in said training camp, he preached defense first and "protecting the house"...what happened? We were 30th in defense in the league. Yes, I know we don't have the greatest defensive players, but this year (at last check), we are either 29th or 30th. Again, part of it is the players, yes; but as a head coach, it is your job to mask some of the players' deficiencies, and create a system that allows them to succeed...NOT allow the team to give up close to 106 points a game.

Secondly, I think if you're on the team, in the NBA, then when your number is called - regardless of situation - you go in. It's your damn job, and you're getting paid a TON of money to do it.

The only excuse I would allow here, for Julian, is if he had the scoobies, and was scared that jumping for a rebound his tap-ass would open up and flood his shorts. (In that case, he gets a bye).

okay dude gives effort but he fucking sucks. he really fucking sucks. and like, i get giving a guy playing time for effort, i get that. but this is the NBA. this league is made up of professionals. realistically, julian wright sucks (have i said that?) and he has not produced when given time. at some point, as a professional, you have to produce. that is why you are a professional - because you are held to a certain standard and are expected to produce.

honestly, dude sucks. if he does not know he sucks, then he is stupid. and a guy who is both stupid and sucks needs to be off this team.

The question remains though, what do YOU think of Julian Wright? Please tell us your opinion instead of being so vague.

i get that he sucks, our team isn't pretty. i just think there's no reasonable explanation for him to sit on the bench when he addresses our defensive weakness while a player will receive an automatic 20 minutes a night regardless of how poor their defensive effort is. regardless, i'm just saying it's a slap in his face to have his name called when you're down 40 points. you can call it unprofessional, but i think it's more unprofessional giving zero effort.

fine... you value effort over professionalism... but do you value insubordination over effort? It's just a bad precedent to set... even if Triano is eventually let loose. Triano handled this in-game situation perfectly though. Wright did not. It's not his decision to make, otherwise he shouldn't have been sitting on the bench at that point.

Does he not understand that 3/4 of our roster is better than him? Your not a star or even a first bench option... Get over yourself dude.

not exactly what i'm saying. giving no defensive effort is unprofessional. these contracts they're given, much like wright, is to play basketball, not to just take shots at the hoop.

You're right. But it's the coach that needs to determine that basketball means rebound for reggie, sit and wait for Wright, look ridiculously awesome for Barbosa, and the like.

I'm not sure Jay demands enough, or his expectation of professionalism simply needs to be refined to account for guys that don't get it.

I understand his frustration, but ever since JJ came onboard, the writing has been on the wall as to Wright's future in Toronto. JJ is a younger, bigger and better version of Wright.

So, whatever, really... He has mostly hurt his own image.

And what is that system? If players don't close out on shooters it's Triano's fault? If there's a blow by and the interior defenders are quick enough it's his fault? I could go on, but is there really any good defenders on this team? Jose? no. DeMar? no. Bargnani? no. 3/5ths of your starting line up are terrible defenders for the most part, but also your best offensive players.

So, let's roll a line up of Bayless, Barbosa, Wright, Amir and Evans. Let's see how that works out.

Fact of the matter is that this team just isn't good. I'm not really sure what people are expecting but they don't work the ball around on the offense that well and they rest on defense (for the most part). Again, that isn't Triano, that's the players. And it wasn't like we were a great defensive squad under Mitchell either. I don't remember us being this power house of defensive team. We were solid because when you run a line up of TJ-Parker-Garbo-Bosh-Nesterovic you had a lot of IQ out on the court which was able to hide deficiencies in the defense.

And if we're gonna put it on the coaches, put it on PJ as well, considering he was brought in as a 'defensive specialist'. Get guys with high iq, get some good vets and you'll see things will change.

Sure, youre angry when your coach who hasnt played you all game tells you to get in there when the game is already well out of hand, but you fucking go in the game. Youre getting paid to play professional basketball, yet when your boss tells you to do your job, you tell him no?

He should be released right away no questions asked. Wright is a fucking terrible NBA player anyways. Good riddance.

Julian Wright didn't do anyone any fasvours here. He makes Triano look bad, makes himself look bad, he doesn't instill any sense of unity with the team or coach. He soesn't showcase anything for next year. It's just really all around negative and stupid and he should apologize asap.
