Default Josh Childress

Is he still a RFA playing back in Greece? Is there any way we could still grab him or is he still property of Atlanta?

I can't help but think he'd be a pretty productive player for this squad and shore up our perimeter defense all the while pushing DeRozan to both be a better player and secondly for playing time.

I'd be inclined to think that there's no way to bring him in, but i've always been a fan of his.

I brought him up yesterday. But he's in the second year of a 3yr contract at almost 7Mil/yr.

Ain't gonna happen, but it would be nice.

he was an RFA last offseason so I think he's a FA
I think many of us were thinking he would be the MLE here

Splitter is a guy I want to come out of Europe

yup
the guy was drafted years ago, how long do these rights last?
he also has a pretty big contract in Europe and I think the Spurs will bring him in when Duncan retires

I think he's solid, but he's still a RFA and he chose to return to Greece although he can opt out of the third year of his deal at the end of the season.

Well, there's a guy I think we have to target if we're looking long term.

I can see him providing the same things AP did for us when he returned from Europe and playing just as key a role on our perimeter as a veteran leader.

we would have to clear a lot of cap room to sign childress. he wants more than the mle, that's why he went back to greece this year. this would be next to impossible unless we deal cb and hedo for cap space.

Rights last forever. You will always have the players right's no matter what.

Anyway's I would love to have Childress but there is no way he is gonna want to give up 7 mil because there is no way I would want to throw that money at him. He'll end up staying there and maybe after his contract is up he might check out and offers for him but HAwks will always be able to match it if they pay the qualifying offer that is

childress does not address any need for us that we have. In place of hedo? so hedo goes to the bench? we need defence at the point and a stud two way player at the two. Childress is no way a two.
