Why? He's an overpayed average PG and obviously the TPE will allow for subsequent moves. That was rumored when we were going after Nash.

and you're telling guys like me and torap that we're exaggerating? comeon dude, average? you're telling me the average pg averages near 10-10 on a scrub team with one offensive talent?

with the contracts being handed out right now, i'd say jose isn't even overpayed, aaaaand he's a fucking expiring. I'm sorry, but I see a hell of a lot more value in all that than a simple TPE.

He's in the middle of the pack in the league at his position (as a starter), not great, not bad.....very definition of average. It's funny, prior to this season he had two pretty lackluster seasons and most were writing him off and his injuries didn't help him. He's a good passer and plays a controled, safe game. But he has average speed, he's average at best when it comes to creativity, he's below average as a defender and he simply doesn't score much.

BTW, wtf are you getting this 10/10 business? He's never averaged even 9 assists in one season let alone 10 (7.2apg for his career). He doesn't shoot enough which as a good shooter diminishes that asset he has therefor he ends up averaging 8.5apg, at the same time he costs us points game in game out in our end because he's a pylon. So, doesn't score much, costs us points on the defensive end but can get you 8-9 assists. HE'S AVERAGE!

With the trade kicker his contract is 11.6Mil.......3Mil too high imo.

If Jose is gone for a tpe raps save a lot of $ + increase their options with the tpe available and also with jose's salary being gone, have a lot more possibilities in taking back more salary in a trade (ex. when dealing for a gay,ai,etc). Am I missing something?

Johnson can play the SF & has size...The only problem is he can't dribble real well but thats what Lowry & Luke would be there for.

Jose Calderon likely in play for Mavericks, but only if he is amnestied

The Mavericks have interest in Toronto point guard Jose Calderon, but the only legitimate avenue that would bring him to Dallas is if he were to be waived by the Raptors via the amnesty clause. A source said that if Calderon were to be amnestied, the Mavericks would be players.

It appears unlikely that any trade could be worked out.

The Raptors, to date, have said they do not intend to amnesty Calderon. But that could always change depending on other roster moves that might become available.

The Raptors face a difficult situation because it’s quite possible they will lose Calderon for nothing if he plays out this, the final year on his contract at better than $10 million.

I like this idea very much!
Could we get Ronny Buckets as well if we throw in a 2nd round pick?

What vet PGs r on the market right now?

Ha, yeah they do..... if you think they're winning with a PG combo of Collison and RB, you're mistaken. Both guys are still developing, nowhere near good enough yet.

exactly. in fact I'd opt to keep caldy until the Olympics are over. He is primed to shine this summer being the #1 PG on the Spanish team - and you know if Spain does well, JC's stock sky rockets and does the perceived value for us in any deal. If BC is smart we entertain trade discussions but don't pull the trigger until Jose's stocks appreciates.

i'd rather us make the decisions before the games have started just to avoid the risk of him injuring himself. i don't see the games improving his stock, though. he's coming off a solid season and he's already established throughout the league.
