Jose with a smaller footprint.

I don't know if this question has come up, but does the main issue with Jose come down to his salary?

In other words, should he not be moved for a decent return and he ends up staying here until his contract winds down, would he be welcomed back here to play 18 minutes a night at 5 million per?

Considering all his injury bug I would say 5 mil would be too much I would welcome him back for 2-3 mil

The biggest issue is not being able to stay healthy. If he could appear to be able to stay healthy, he'd be a good fit as a guy that could play 20-25 minutes, and help ease a young guy into a bigger role. It's really starting to look like a Yao situation.

Um how can you compair a perennial all-star that is 7'5"? That has had almost 10 leg & foot surgeries to a 6'3" point guard that can't play through any pain?

I just don't see it.

It's not always the same injury like Yao though. Yes, the groin's been an issue, but I'm pretty sure I remember a calf, ankle and now the foot.

I could see good value for him on a team when he does not have to carry a heavy load and can also play injury time for another starer. When most teams lose their starting PG, they're screwed. Jose....Raptor for life?

We had him on our team and we traded him earlier this season. His name was Jarret Jack and he was making a reasonable $5M per year.

I'm against moving players for the sake of cutting a few million $. Trade Calderon to improve on talent is one thing, but to trade Calderon simply because you want to save a few million -- are you on the board of MLSE or the teacher's pension plan?

The issue with Calderon, IMO, isn't his salary at all - we signed him for about $3M/yr more than he's worth, but that's done. The issue is his freaking health - he just can't stay on the court for any length of time.

It was a huge worry of mine before we traded him, and it's still ongoing.
