Looks like your subconscious agrees with Raptor123, your first extinct was to +1 him.

I agree. Jose is better than Lowry... at being a back-up .
lmao honestly Jose is the better PG(not a better player) offensively, but he's not assertive enough, the team needs him to be more then just being passive. Watch him in late games, he's def one of the players you want to see shoot the ball or create for others, and make plays. But he doesn't! He'll pass it to someone on the wings most likely and not be involved in the play... which he usually does a great job of through 3 quarters.
Lowry's intangible which come with his determination and hard work triumph Jose's. If Lowry was as tall as Jose, he'd be a top 5 point guard, he's a good defender, a great one... but his length is one of few things you can knock Lowry on. His numbers are a little weak at times, but we need to remember he's playing through an injury.

I actually think Jose has been taking more open jumpers than he has in the past... I wonder if the stats support that....

I noticed that too, it's great ! I'm not knocking on Jose, but he's still not taking initiative near the end of 4th quarters.. I'm not sure if stats can show that, but he seems much more passive and plays hot-potato with it in crunch time. Again this is just from watching, not basing it on stats.

EDIT: Just a random to question to all, who'd you want the ball in the end game?(Doesn't mean he has to shoot it!)
Jose? Who seems like wont take the shot, or be very passive unless was told so by Casey- usually out of a time out. or Lowry? Who wants to win by any means necessary, usually wont take the shot out of a time out- since Casey loves having Bargs shooting a fade away... thinking he's Nowitzki- but would take the initiative otherwise.

Anyway, I am not really sure of the chronology here, but I believe piling up on Calderon and blaming him for all the team's problems predates raptor123's first appearance on this forum. Perhaps I am wrong here, but maybe, just maybe his proselytizing is a reaction, eh? In any event, he doesn't strike me as a troll per se, more like an overzealous supporter of a particular player. I am pretty sure that if the reaction to his sometimes over-the-top posts is toned down or non-existent, the results would be satisfactory.
I think that you and I have been two of Jose's most vocal supporters over the years.....

... so when even WE'RE rolling our eyes and shaking our heads at some of the comments made by Rap123... well.... yeah...

Kleiza should start instead of Bargnani.
There, I said it. How am I better than raptor123? Would you like to see me making threads every week about how good is Kleiza, disguised with other concerns?

actually Jose now MUST start of a bench, together with JV, because he's much better PG for JV than Lowry. JV's productivity on offense will shoot up, just like Jose's assists, and their lack of defense won't show that much while playing against second units

Don't think it's really fair to nit-pick the offensive productivity of a 20 yr old rookie 19 games into his first season who's got to play that rookie season against older stronger more experienced veterans.

Not that I think Jose should start...but

50% of our wins are with Jose starting, figured I would just throw it there.

I don't even think he's been that bad for the most part. He played great when Lowry was out.

Guy is just a very solid backup guard.... nothing more... nothing less.

My point is Jose isn't completely useless on the court, and if anything he has more chemistry with the starters right now than Lowry does.

Lowry is still a much better player, if that makes you feel better.

Neither better nor worse.

The 2 games that Jose started and won were while Lowry was injured.

All I was saying is that the point was irrelevant.

Take a look at the last 4yrs. The only prolonged winning stretch we had was in the 2009-10 season. For two months that season we were one of the hottest teams in the league, going from 10th in the conference to 5th and it was when Jose went down with an injury for a month and then came off the bench for a month and he wasn't starting. The rest of the last 4yrs has been a joke and guess who was the starting PG. Not saying he's why we were constantly a losing team but he's just not that great like some like to say he is.
