Default Jose - Next Nash

Quote:
Jose Calderon, Raptors: A very accurate shooter, Calderon has the best chance of this group to become the next Nash. He's a gifted passer who doesn't take wild shots; unlike Rondo and Parker, he's a serious 3-point threat (though Parker did beat Philly with a 3 the other day), and he has yet to miss a free throw! We're in January, and he's a perfect 72-for-72! Calderon is averaging 13 and 8.7; if it were 16 and 11, with his percentages he would garner first-round attention next season. Remember, Nash wasn't always a statistical monster. It happened in his late 20s.

Nash dribbles and penetrates at will. Hardly Jose's strength.

Nash always pushed the ball, even before being a statistical monster. That's simply something Jose has to get back to if he's going to be a Nash.

Jokes if it said Nash would be traded for Jose that makes more sense then Jose being the next Nash. I mean people are getting blinded by stats that don't mean much. Assist to T.O Ratio, and Great he hasn't missed a foul shot but he hardly gets to the line.

Who cares what, the next he is. As long as he can be a good player that provides for the Raps, I don't care

No way you trade Caldy for Nash. As much as I love Nash, Caldy is our guy and BC knows what he brings to the table. BC has made it known that Caldy is not going anywhere, now if he can stay healthy we should be alright. Hopefully Will and Roko can hold down the fort. We will make the playoffs, injuries to Caldy and JO will just make our team that much stronger in the long run. Other players get to play more and step up their games this will only increase the strength off the bench. The writer has it right ! Just like every other team about Caldy !

As much as I like Jose, he is not and won't be any better than Parker. Parker is so valuable in the playoffs and in crunch time. Yeah and it is funny he said Parker beat the Philly with a trey. lol

No he didnt, but considering Nash's strongest point is being able to take ppl off the dribble, get to the hole and create for himself and others, i dont see the comparison, unless all you do is look at %'s.

jose doesnt make his players better, penetrate or make incredible passes so theres no way jose can compare to nash as a player.

only their stats are comparable.

You left out the heading of this article. The article is making comparisons to Nash's field goal percentage.

It says specifically: "Here are a few point guards vying to be the next Nash when it comes to field goal percentage:
Jameer Nelson, Magic
Rajon Rondo, Celtics
Tony Parker, Spurs
Jose Calderon, Raptors"

So when taken out of context the article looks way off base but in reality it is quite accurate when comparing field goal percentages.

Default Does Jose Make His Teammates Better?

I was watching the Lakers-Hornets game last night as they showed a very interesting stat.

The Most Assists by a PG to a Teammate.
they only showed the top 3.
Chris Paul to David West was 1st
Kidd to Nowitzki was 2nd.
Rajon Rondo to Kevin Garnett was 3rd
maybe Calderon to Bosh couldve been 4th. i dont know. i cant find this particular stat anywhere.

Ive hard a lot of stave nash comparisons. We all know Nah makes his teammates better. Just look at how marion's offense is suffering in Miami.

Does Jose Calderon make his teammates better?
im curious to what you guys think.

Isn't this topic someplace else? Just bump the other thread. And you know how all of us feel. And we know your sentiments on the issue. Another thread for this is totally unnecessary.
