Now if he'd only learn to play off of quicker guards instead of letting them blow by every time.

lol its amazing all the blame always goes on Sams door for Jose or Bargs lack of D.... D is about effort and dedication and being HARD NOSED... you really cant teach that kind of stuff, you either have the heart and courage to D up hard or you dont, Jose is still young so hopefully he can, or like i said in other thread he may be like Nash in every way (but u def could do alot worse then Nash its just he is prob the worst PG on D in the league, Jose isnt that far behind).

With Kidd now gone, is it safe to say Jose's the best PG in the Eastern Conference or do people still think Billups is better?

Billups is still Billups and I have a lot of respect for that player and for the Pistons.

I'd say Billups and Calde are the best in the East.

I don't want to get caught up in who's better or who's an allstar or whatever.

All i'll say is that Jose is shooting and passing out of his mind right now and he has become a VERY GOOD point guard. The kind you want to have on your team and the kind that every other team wishes they had. I'm just really enjoying the ride.

BTW, I wonder if he warrants player of the month consideration?

Billups has been how good for how long? Detroit's record is what? Billups defense is 100x better.

I love Jose, but Billups is better. That being said if I had to chose between the two I'd rather have Jose because he's still improving and he's younger.

care to elaborate on how you plan to .... oh never mind.

Stop being a baby.

Anyhow, sure, I'll elaborate. Jose plays great defence, he never lets up, he makes the opposing guards work from inbounds on, which takes its toll. He helps well, and always, ALWAYS keeps his hands in the lanes to disrupt and cause a bit of chaos. He plays his man to the proper side very well, and he takes away easy Jumpers.

Does he get beat, well ya, is there a guard out there that doesn't???????

I keep reading comments from posters saying he is getting killed, the ONLY way to stop PG penetration on an iso is to have proper hedging from your other guards and alert lane defensce from your bigs.

HA!

Our bigs, Bosh and BArgnani??????

You gottta be fucking kidding me.

Same reason our 2-3 guys get shredded by elite SF's.

Why don't you put your clip board back in your locker bro, my comment was meant to be smartass. Stop being a messageboard baby, not everything needs to be a fight.

And mind your Business.

Actually the game got close with Calde on the bench and then we got back he hit those two threes to put it out of reach. I think both Bosh and calde did a pretty bad job on nelson in the fourth, they just let him pass for the "easy" basket.

Actually my comment was meant to be smart ass too, so perhaps I'm not the one who's being a baby...

Anyway, it doesn't take a genius to figure out maybe I should take a step back after he's blown by me three or four times in a row and our once cushy 20+ point lead is now 10.

ya no, you're right.

Jose is horrid on D.

The line your in forms to left, however it hasn't started just yet as all the GM's in the NBA have formed one on the right under the sign that says "Will do anything to take your POS No defence PG off your hands Bryan"

Good grief.

Ya, I played.

Sure, I red shirted, don't expect me to feel bad about it.

still, billups is a better defender, and he can also defend 2s, which Calderon can't. Offensively, he's #1 in the league right now, he might not be the best at all aspects, but when all things are considered (shooting, penetration, court vision, passing, tos, technique), I see him at the top of the chart.

And btw, ron jeremy was exstatic last night when talked about jose and his pick and rolls, he was like "Jose is a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT pick and roll guy", and each time he said "great", there was more emphasis on the word ...
