Default Jose or Jack?

Who do you want to see moved? and why?

my vote is for Jose (no D, pretty big contract still, slow as hell, great guy but needs to go to a strong defensive team to truly be effective and get back to his crazy assist/TO rate)

I'd keep Jose. He's the much better facilitator (and should Hedo be traded, we WILL need a PG that keeps everyone happy) and when healthy, he's the better player of the two. Jack would probably net a better return of the two, thanks in part to the fact that he's only earning 5 million a season.

I would like a Devin Harris as starting PG and a JJ as off the bench, because he is slightly more defensive and the other team will be less likely to go on runs. Jose is one of my favourite Raptors for his intensity. If the Raptors can somehow limit fast breaks his weaknesses won't be as big of a problem and his offensive skills will be an asset

How can you deduce that Jose is a better player and yet Jack would net a better return? The only thing that would make that possible is if Jack had a bigger contract but he doesnt'. Jose's gets us a better return based on salary when salary equals talent...which admittedly it doesn't always.

When has Jack averaged 8-9 apg, or shoot greater than 50% on the season, or 90%+ from the FT line? Based on not only the contracts but the stats as well, it would point to the fact that Jose is a better player.
Jack would net the better return because of the lower salary and he's not as seemingly injury prone.

Trade Jack. I think they are pretty equal in overall skill level, but trading Jack gives us more in return. Also I like Calderon and his type of players. And it seems Hedo is leaving so there wont be that problem anymore.

If ever there was a moment I wondered if you were the REAL Mangokid I'm now convinced you're not

It's pretty convenient to take one players individual strenghts and use them to define another players skill level. When has Jose done what you mentioned up there..? Only once!

I think you have the salary thing backwards. Generally speaking a higher salary is paid to better players. So if you can trade for an 8mil player you should be able to get a better player than a 5mil. That's not always the case but generally is true. To convert Jack into something better, more assets need to be included. The same might be true for Jose but it wouldnt' be for the dollar aspect, but the value as a player aspect...to which his has been in serious question the past two seasons.

I say you keep your best pg and thats a no brainer so Jose stays and Jack once again gets the boot from another NBA team.
However, Jose will be the better bargaining chip, hes a player that most teams want, Jose is easier to trade then Jack so things should be interesting.
Anyone know if these guys have anything in their contract that puts any restrictions on where they go if a deal is on the table ??????

id rather move Calderon but truth be told im not concerned about the PG position with what we have, even defensively. PG is the smallest and most skilled position on the court, i dont care if you've got a young gary payton you aint stoping an oppposing PG from getting where he wants without good team defense. Yeah Calderon is slow but jacks feet move just fine and Calderon is an efficeint passer with a completely different look. I have no problem with the combo, they should just pass to hedo a little less.
