Jose Calderon Wants to Play for the Lakers

Jose Calderon has played all six of his seasons with the Toronto Raptors. Calderon, has career averages of 9.8 points, 7.0 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game. Calderon in his career shoots 49% from the field and makes 38% of his three pointers.

Calderon has worn out his time in Toronto, but is not so cheap when you look at his annual salary. ($9.7 million next season and $10.5 million in 2012-13)

He also has ties with Pau Gasol as they played on the Spanish national team together, and has said in the past he would like to play with Gasol in the NBA.

Can't see the Lakers or Boston wanting him so whatever. It's amazing to me though, Bargnani wants to play in a warm climate and Jose wants to play for LAL or Boston. Ship both their asses to Minnesota.

I think the Lakers could have some interest in Calderon and he would be a good fit in their system IMO. He can shoot the ball and he doesn't turn the ball over - two skills needed for the triangle offence.

He shoots well but doesn't shoot and he's a good passer when it's safe to do so.....usually after dribbling for 15 seconds. Besides, that team needs a PG that can defend and that isn't him and they're not a dumb organization that'll want his salary for what he brings. With most players wanting to play there, they can do much better.

who doesnt want to play for the lakers or celtics? teams with soo much history and sucess..almost everyone grew up watching those teams dominate...i dont see what the problem is...

Is that for sure or are you speculating?

While I know Brown hasn't used the triangle offence before, the Lakers could still employ it as their main set, especially if they retain Hamblen and Cleamons as assistant coaches.
