Jose Calderon`s Trade Value?

What is Jose's trade Value????

His strengths
-Great shooting ability
-High basketball IQ
-great playmaker
-great game manger
-Team-first attitude (very underrated)

His Faults
-Poor lateral quickness (usually resulting in quicker PGs buring him)
-Tendency to dominate the ball
-Long expensive contract (8 mill for 4 more years)
- Injury problems
-Getting up in age(I know hes 28 but add that to all the years in the euroleague and international play)

For possible rumor trades, I've seen many raptor fans and media having Calderon being the center of the package for a good-to-great SG/SF (Like for Maggette, Iggy, and Butler). This contrasts some American writers who see the Raptors trading Jose for an EC to get rid of his contract (I don't personally agree with this).

So what do you guys think is Jose trade value?

Q2: Hypothetically Jose demands a trade what would be the best deal for him?

Nothing lower then Kobe Bryant

But really, I think it is a good bench scorer, one that'll actually help.

If he stays in Toronto his value will keep declining so trade this instant.

If we want to get the most for him, trading from a low like this is probably not the best idea. That might not matter much if we were bulking up for a championship run, but I would be pleasantly surprised if we last until the second round and completely floored if we make it through.

Calderon's perceived value is pretty low right now, compared to where it has been in recent years. In order to exact the most from another team for him, it might make sense to hold on to him and have him start some games and hold up three fingers a few times either this year or next before trading him.

I'm all for ditching Calderon, but I don't think the current circumstances will allow us to get as much for him as we could. Then again, maybe BC can find a taker - he did turn Devean George into Belinelli after all.

In the immortal words of Warren Buffett: "Price is what you pay. Value is what you get."

I would love to see BC make this trade!
NBA Trade Machine - ESPN

Calderon/Rasho/POB 2010 second rounder

for

Baron Davis and Brian Skinner

Davis/Banks/Belli
Derozan/Wright/Belli
Hedo/Wright/Weems
Bosh/Amir/Evans
Bargs/ Skinner/Amire

I know a lot of people think Skinner is a scrub but IMO he would be the perfect complimentary player along side either Bosh or Bargs for about 20 minutes a game to grad some boards and blocking some shots and toughing up the interior presence along with Evans and Amir. Davis brings us a swagger that I think the Raps need. He talks trash, he makes predictions and challenges and I think he could be the type of guy to get things fired up around here. He is clutch when the game counts and he rebounds the ball well at the position and is huge step up in the defensive end of the floor with a guy who is strong enough to guard 2's and some threes. Also gives us a post up point guard that would fit in well when Bosh and Bargs decide to roam the perimeter. Throwing in Rasho and POB just opens up some space off the books at the end of the season for the Clipps and Jose would be a good point guy who can get Griffin all he needs when he comes back.

IMO that deal weakens the team. You add a bad contract in Baron Davis and do not address the issue on the wing, you also maintain the problem that makes Jose expendable, too many ballhandlers with Calderon, Jack and Turkoglu.

Jose gets traded for a wing or not at all.

Don't trade Jose. He is a valuable PG coming off the bench. We don't need anybody.

0. The Raptor Public seeem to believe that this roster will be successful. We are barely even the best of the worst. We can't compete with elite teams over a seven game stretch, they were built for contention.... the Raptors were built in desparation

Don't think so. His contract ruins his value. The shorter it becomes, his value could go up.

He's not going anywhere until the summer. Not enough takers now, and it appears that not enough would be offered right now.
