Jonesy's right. Don't panic. Wait for the right deal. If it doesn't come along, don't amnesty Calderon. We haven't had this much depth at the point guard position since Ford/Calderon.

Especially if you establish the pecking order. It's not really in Jose's DNA to complain, so if he's told that there's a good chance he'll be dealt, but he's playing off of the bench, he'd probably accept it. I've already said, I think Jose will be good this year - in a contract year - it just looks like more and more it will be with another team. |

Yeah, I think Jones has it right too. Take time and field offers.
But, what's interesting to me is, they all seem to think he's gone for sure, at least at some point next year. They seem to think it's impossible for Calderon to be a longterm back-up. If the Raps can't find a good trade that REALLY helps the team, I was thinking it might be in the teams best interest to try him at back-up the whole year and, if it works, re-sign him to a cheaper extension. A lot of Calderon's weaknesses are minimized if he's playing the bulk of his minutes against 2nd units, and his experience could really help with leading a bench group that includes several young players. |

I like this move as well.
Lowry starting would definitely hide Jose's glaring inability to defend. Amnestying Jose never really made much sense to me considering he's essentially top 3 in the league in assists per game. |
