In another 2 years he will be catching it off the backboard like that and windmilling on his defender.

I love the emotion after the dunk. Go ham or go home

As someone mentioned before, it seems that JV is slower and lost some of his hops compared to last year. He is also missing much more FT's, that is probably result of him spending more time in the gym, but i just hope he will get back to normal..

To be honest, I didn't see DD do a lot in terms of athleticism last year. Stuff like dunks, and-ones, fast-breaks were limited this year probably because of the half-court offense played all the time.

The hype around this guy is way too much. Honestly wait for him to play in the NBA. I've seen ppl on this forum stating he is gonna average Dwight Howard numbers; WTF?!?!?! He will be so raw when he comes to the NBA, but typical Raptors fans will call him a bust because he will be our backup center for much of the next season. I think he is a great pick but we will still have to wait for him to develop.

He's definitely not as raw as most 7 foot prospects coming in through the NCAA.

He has great instincts and he's made a lot of key fundamentals habitual. Thats one of the big reason a lot of people expect him to succeed.

Rakakakakaka! In yo' face! </chappelle>

Don't see why people are complaining. How many starting centers in the NBA would run hard and be able to get that alley-oop in? I doubt very many outside of Dwight and DeAndre Jordan...

And yes, JV be raw, but he's an extremely hard worker, at least from what I've seen, so that should translate into at least a few putbacks/transition dunks a game. Tall atheltic centers are hard to come by, so there is reason to be excited about his impact on our team.

raptor fans need something to be optimistic about and from some clips ive seen i think JV is a good fit. its hard being a team of franchise that hasnt gone anywhere in its entire existence if you cant get a little excited at what could be. Because i mean, if we cant do that then we're left thinking about what could have been and thats far too depressing.

So here's to JV's bright future with the Raptors and that pretty dunk

What about this guy? lol
I don't get excited for each dunk I see from a 7 footer. I wan't to believe Jonas is gonna be a great C, but chances are 50/50 in the way I see it.

Yeah, JV can turn out like Kwame, but Kwame also had (has?) about as much heart as the Grinch. I think it's pretty unusual to see hard working, talented, athletic players turn out to be busts.

I'm just sayin', he's got the potential to be pretty good. It's been a while since the last time we said that about a young true center on our roster. For at least the next few weeks, let's just forget the fact that every time we have said that, things didn't really work out...

Love the hustle! And he's not limited by being an 'undersized' center. They're going to the playoffs and I'm going to watch then play again.

Windmills, 360s, and other flashy dunks help win the fanbase, not the games.
