Just stop.

Dude he blew a .80

That means he was pretty drunk.

Whether or not he removed the beer bottles from the car does not change the fact that he was reported to be driving with beer bottles in his car then found drunk a short time later.

He fucked up, he's dealing with the consequences.

For someone who is usually quick to assume the worst, you seem to be playing the role of public defender a lot for JV. If it was Justin Bieber who got himself in this same situation in Wasaga, we all know you would be on the other side of the fence.

Sure, he's a douchebag with a history of run ins with the law including drugs, drinking & drag racing, assault, vandalism. If Jonas had that type of history at his age i'd be calling to trade his ass.

Well I hope JV never has that type of history but keep in mind this is how it starts.

He now has a history. It may be just one incident, but when you are a young NBA player its enough for a first strike.

It's a first strike for anyone to do this. If he is stupid enough to do something like this again i would change my tune but for now let's see what happens.

He did have to take it. It's an offence to refuse. Whether or not they had proper grounds to make the demand is another question. If they didn't then you can look to have the results of the test excluded from a trial.

I'm happy he is getting suspended 2 games and he better get his head out of his ass.
.08 is not drunk, so lets not get crazy. But agree, that was really stupid thing to do

In ontario...because driving offences are handled on a provincial, not federal level, you must be under .08.....but its is very common for police to issue a 12 hour suspension if you are at or above .05....also, in Ontario, anyone under 22 must have a blood alcohol level of .000 at all times.....

We really have to take this into consideration. Some people in this thread are talking like JV was 2-3x the legal limit (which would put him at a .16 or .24). If he was 2-3x the legal limit then the comments are valid, but if he blew a .08 you guys are over reacting with all this he coulda killed someone, he put everyone's lives in danger bull. Being at or slightly above the legal limit say up to .1 is DOES not mean he was plastered and a danger to all those who where near him, if he was 2-3x the limit, then yes, all that applies beucase at that point you so wasted your asking for it. (note, i never drink, so don't let this seem like im cool with it, its just that if he wasn't reckless drunk, its not the biggest issue).

At .08 you could arrest 3/4 of the Russian Population for DUI, don't forget guys, hes from another part of the world, and laws and social norms are different in different parts of the world.

This thread has almost become as over the top as the RGM thread.

Actually scratch that, its not even close, but its still entertaining to read everyone overreacting when we still don't have the full story on what happened.

fair enough...I don't see JV as a type to be a recurring problem, so all this negative attention will pass by shortly and he'll learn from it. No need to crucify the guy.
