Default Joey/Ukic/Bargs

In the midst of all of this depression I just wanted to say that I've really enjoyed watching these guys grow this season. Not to say that they're finished products by any means but all 3 give me a lot of hope for the future.

And the beautiful thing is that each of them are placed perfectly on the floor... big man... defensive swingman... and point guard.

Each of these guys should get 30+ minutes for the rest of the season when/if it's determined that we won't be making the playoffs.

if any one told me (before the season started) that one of our bright spots would be Joey Graham, i would have thrown up on the spot.
but alas, its true, Joey has actually become one of my favorite players to watch over the last few weeks.

its funny, the 3 guys you name ToRap... Joey, Ukic, bargs.... those are 3 guys who came in this season and play every game with some passion and effort. win or lose, they seem to have the same mentality and play hard. everyone else on the squad seems to play when they feel like it or as if they're owed something.

kudos to these 3.
it took a while, but Bargs has finally come around. Joey is finally getting it. and Roko is a fast learner.

heck yes. I've felt this way since early December... that developing our young players was the priority of the season.

wouldn't it be funny if Joey went on to sign with another team and became a force?

My wrath would be uncontainable.

After all of the battling I've done for this guy over the years though it would be sweet.

This was my point the other day, as well. Raptors should focus on developing these guys for the rest of the season. Also I would like Jose to not be used that much so he can get healthy for the next season.
Other guy who I want to see playing more minutes is Jawai. Just unleash him and let's see what he is able to do on the court.

I say we should let them play but people say if you give a player like Jawai big time minutes now and he does poorly it will hurt his confidence. Players like Graham and Ukic should be playing often. Caldy just needs to take some time off and not play competitive for Spain in the summer, they have Rodriguez and Rubio

Roko needs to stop blowing wide open lay ups. Other than that he shows some great potential. Joey G has been a force and it's so nice to see AB finding some consistency.

You have to bring him along slowly ... right now he barely sees the floor and most of the time he is on the inactive list. I would say, just forget about Jake Voskuhl and play Jawai about 5-10 minutes, considering that CB4 might be out for two games as well. Keeping him on bench doesn't help to pump up his confidence

nothing pisses me off more than having parker playing point in desperation when we could have roko out there developing and further learning the ropes.

The 3 of these guys should honestly be untouchable.

If we're going to trade JO and lose Bosh then these are the guys that we should be building around.

funny indeed. none of these guys is 'build a franchise around' good enough...nor will they be. Bargnani has the skill but not the personality to be a leader... Graham has neither and never will and Roko is too new and raw to tell.

I think Bargs and Roko are potentially big important pieces... Joey is nice..but really even the way he's playing now is easily replaceable. His expiring deal is still his most valuable asset...although i'd keep him as a bench guy now that we see he can contribute.

You just can't pick some guys you like that are young and say let's build the franchise around them... championship team's aren't built that way. Perennial playoffs maybe... but not real winners. You need high skill, high character, leadership and luck. None of these three give you all that, nor are they likely ever to.

It IS kinda funny lol... I was just thinking that... but I believe that if we ditch Bosh and JO we should just restock this team with good, young players ala POR.

Ukic, Bargs and Joey all have a lot of potential IMO.

But yeah.. "untouchable" may have been stretching it a bit heh-heh.

Wrong.

Bargnani has the personality to be king.

He has the defensive wherewithal to be an average center....but that is changing.

I would have to say all three of these guys have stepped it up. Bargs ovbiously since now i expect around 20ppg from him. He drives when he can and he can shoot the mid range jumper as well as hit the threes. Joey, well that guy is just a diffrent player since he broke out earlyer this season, its about time this guy is now starting to get it. He is the only slasher we got that actually drives and does some big as dunks (like the one over gasol) roko on the other hand is well raw. He really needs to work on his shot, badly. But becides that he is getting the hand of things. The ont thing i love that he does is he can blow by just about anyone and get to the basket for a nice layup. Very Very fast (remids me of tj) he will be good ina few years if he can get a shot going.
