Default Joey Graham's 4th Annual Good Game

As you know Graham had a good game (17 points, 6 rebounds), but we've seen this movie every year. Do you think this is the year he finally breaks out and gets some minutes?

Joey played plenty the first two years of his career.

If he can break through the obvious mental barrier that prevents him from playing consistently the way he did last night (which I think he will), he will get lots of minutes.

Especially since Moon is more and more looking like a lost cause and a guy just happy to be here.

A large part of that is not his call.

do i think he deserves to get extra minutes? YES.
Do i think he has more to offer this team than some players who are seeing a lot of playing time? HELL YES.

I don't think anyone's expecting him to "break out" so to speak . I know i'm not. I do think he can be a solid contributor who will bother the opposition and do the things this team NEEDS. He did that against boston earlier and they sure as hell ain't charlotte.

Dude needs to get minutes. every game. and he needs Sam to let him play through his mistakes, unless of course everything goes wrong for him on some nights.

Joey's played well all season long. Sam just doesn't play him. Watch the games he's in this year compared to last year and he doesn't make the same mistakes he usually does. Hell, I'm curious as to why he hasn't put him out there more often this season.

+1

Part of the reason why Bargs has developed is that he was ALLOWED to fuck up without the fear of being yanked every 2 secs.

This is part of the reason that barely anyone on our team (outside of our stars) has any real trade value.

The Raptors need an athletic wing... hmmm? Isn't there a guy like that on the bench?

Sam Mitchell has become a horrendous coach. Instead of putting the so called "best player in practice" on the court to work out the kinks and obvious performance anxiety he sits joey night after night. Bargs has the same issues, but he gets a chance to work through them.

Moon is limited. Joey needs consistent minutes. The end.

Well if Joey was a 1st overall pick I am sure he would get a longer run too. But this is year 4 and we have had the same debates over and over about Joey. He has a good game or does anything positive and everyone hopes back on the Joey Bandwagon but come on I have seen this movie far to many times I am well aware of how it ends as should everyone else be.

Do me a favour...please find one person other than yourself who thinks Bargs has had a long leash.

You're telling me that you don't recall DOZENS of games in Bargs' first 2 season where he did next to NOTHING on the court yet still got time? Eventually Sam finally sat him some and played Rasho, but before that? C'mon... he was coddled more than any other struggling player I've seen in a Raps uni.

At what point do you realize that WYSIWYG? Joey isn't making the same mistakes? Hmmm...that was him with the same usual offensive foul last night - in a good game - wasn't it?

Joey has had stretches where he's played well and been given the chance to play. Sam fucking well started him in the playoffs two years ago. What exactly is the whining about him not getting his chance all about? Now he has earned another chance, and yes it has taken him a little longer to earn that chance this time around. How many times does somebody get to blow their chances? Well, let's hope he finds what he's always been missing - consistency. Otherwise there's no point in fretting over him one way or another.
