JO: "Good chance i'll end up in Miami"

Through several league sources Pat Riley wants to deal for a Centre and is seriously considering Trading for Jermaine O'neal. He first wants to see him stay healthy and make progress before he pulls the trigger.Going to Toronto as part of a package would be Shawn Marion!

O'neal was telling a league source that he believes there is a good chance he'll end up in Miami.

Wooooooo! Honestly no more worrying about JO being out for weeks at a time! Marion better step his game up once he gets here.

This will never happen if O'neal goes down again in the next few weeks!

Gurk 01-17-2009 11:49 AM

I hope this happens. JO didn't play well yesterday the B's have really good chemistry and I think JO will just ruin that. Trade away BC

bjjs 01-17-2009 11:50 AM

Marion makes us a much better squad.

A legit SF that gives us 12-15pts/9Reb a night and can defend. Not only that we would probably get some bench help as well, considering Marion's contract doesn't match JO's.

It also gives us an option of also trading AP in a seperate package to possibly aupgrade at the 2 spot. Or keep him until the summer and decide then what to do with him.

gdaytday 01-17-2009 11:59 AM

What pieces from Miami could be added to match JO's salary?

bjjs 01-17-2009 12:04 PM

Jamal Magloire.:)

Gurk 01-17-2009 12:06 PM

Sure bjjs, whatever you say

JO(21.3)

Marion/Cook (19.6Mil)

My ideal trade would be

JO/Kapono

for

Marion/Haslem/2nd round pick

(we save 2.8 million) give it to Delfino

Lineup:

Jose/Ukic/Solomon
Parker/Delfino/solomon
Marion/Moon/Adams
Bosh/Haslam/Hump
Bargnani/Hump/Voskhul/Jawai

Marion, Banks, Anthony and wright

JO, Kapono, Solomon and Moon

Jose/Banks/Ukic
AP/Wright/Banks
Marion/Joey/Wright
Bosh/Hump/Marion
Bargs/Voskul/Anthony

Saves us 3.5 million, enough to try and bring back Carlos, or another free agent player, ala Voskul

Jose/Banks/Ukic
AP/Delfino/Wright
Marion/Joey/Delfino
Bosh/Hump/Marion
Bargs/Anthony/Voskul

bjjs 01-17-2009 12:13 PM

They won't give up Cook in the deal. He's playing some good basketball.

Seriously, the only other guys I could see them throwing in for JO, is Quinn, Banks, or Mags.

DemonSamuraiZero 01-17-2009 12:43 PM

Unless, I see Haslem coming back this way, this trade is a :nonono:

'trane 01-17-2009 12:44 PM

maybe a backup pg?

Windex 01-17-2009 12:49 PM

:yeah: early cap relief. :dancing:

Snooch 01-17-2009 12:50 PM

^^Banks.

Good defender who will pair well with Jose, I could see us getting wright as well, especially if we take on Baks contract, either that or we can move Kaponos bad contract for Banks.

Stonezz 01-17-2009 01:13 PM

At this point i wouldn't mind seeing Marion's ugly looking shot because it is clear he would be a very good defensive upgrade which we really need. Banks would be a nice addition too because he can D up.

My guess is that if something's going to happen its not a matter of weeks but a matter of days now or at least couple more games. We can't afford to wait a couple weeks if a deal isn't made sooner rather than later. Even 2 more weeks of consistent losing and our season is toast. The deal will hopefully be made by the end of next week meaning we still have a chance to make the playoffs. :)

Exactly, and is team supposed to play 5-10 more games with JO playing selfish basketball with visions of Miami in his head. If he already expects to go to Miami, than he won't be playing basketball for the Raptors, he'll be playing for himself.

+ 1

Totally agree with you PB.

Assuming JO's health is OK, the deal will be made by next Thursday at the latest. If his health is still in question, JO's going nowhere until next season and we can consider our season pretty close to being done with. Not trying to be a "Debbie Downer", but they haven't shown the fans otherwise in my opinion.
