Default JO Gets Denied

Sucks to Jermaine.

He then proceeds to ask us if we know who Jermaine O'Neal is. I tell him that he's the newly acquired Toronto Raptor and he then tells me that a couple days earlier he (Jermaine) tried to bring his vehicles into Canada (mostly SUV's) on a flatbed truck. Jermaine was the passenger while another fellow was driving. So my friend asks him if he has papers for the cars and the driver says that they didn't have them on him so my friend basically tells him he has to go back and get them. The driver then opens his phone and says "These are Jermaine O'Neal's, hes on the Toronto Raptors, you want me to call the president of the Raptors right now and prove it?" So my friend grabs the phone, closes it and tells him to turn around and return with the paperwork. He said both Jermaine and his driver were extremely pissed off. He also said his cars were pimpin'.
Just a little story i thought i'd share.

btw i do not condone his actions, if it were me i would of asked for a picture, told him hes the man, and let him proceed. I hope Jermaine doesn't hate Canada now.

Yup.

Rules are rules.

I can't stand Customs Officers, however I also don't envy them.

JO's heard about our winters. Especially the amount of snow that hit us last winter. He wants to be prepared for the worst.

oh i'm with you Insider, this has nothing to do with greed at all.

It still baffles me why someone would want a collection of cars as though they were toys - but anyways....

My best buddy worked immigration at Pearson for a few years and had plenty of stories about celebs that didn't think they needed the proper paperwork. He sent one of those power of positive thinking gurus back to the US. The big tall guy that had the infomercial.

Anyway - it's best that nobody gets special treatment.

That's it. Good old Tony. Thanks. Apparently he got very angry.

A lot of the celebs that fly come in their own private planes that often land in the middle of the night. And then after the immigration officer has waited forever, they usually need to wait for further faxing of documents and permits.

Bringing vehicles across the border is just not a simple matter for anyone. It probably should be, but if the casual collector, or the guy just wanting a good deal have to go through the the pain, then the high-profile guys should as well.
