Default JO Excited About Tonight's Opener

I hope to hell its insanely loud there tonight especially you guys from here that have the pleasure in attending the game.

But he couldn't hide his excitement.

''I got a lot of e-mails last night (with) people saying it was good to see me smiling,'' he said at practice Thursday. ''Everybody that's close to me understands how happy I am. It's something we've lost the last two years being in an unenjoyable situation in Indiana.''

O'Neal anticipates the crowd for Friday's game at the Air Canada Centre will be something new, too. The centre spent last season with the Pacers, who were dead last in the 30-team NBA with an average attendance of 12,221.

The Raptors, meanwhile, have a season-ticket base of 11,200 and sold out 32 of 41 home games last season to sit ninth overall in attendance in the NBA.

''I know it's going to be a packed house, the crowd has always been great here,'' said O'Neal, who had 17 points and eight rebounds against the 76ers. ''I knew that as a player coming in here, I know they'll be pumped to see the new lineup that we have.''

O'Neal is certainly doing his part - he says he's reserved eight or nine seats, and his brother, mother, daughter, sister-in-law, business manager, nanny and chef will be in attendance.

''It's a big deal,'' he said.

I'm just glad to see him in a happy place in his life now too. He seems to have embraced the city of Toronto and the rest of Canada at the same time.

Oh, I'll be loud. I'll probably lose my voice at the game. Then I gotta go out to a club after and try to talk over the loud music. Perfect. I'll have nothing left for tomorrow to cheer on my Rangers.

The intro music better be hype.

Sadly, I'm going trick or treating. *Sigh*
Raptors game in an hour should show the opening.

Anyone over the age of 12 or 13 should not be trick or treating.

Stay home and watch the game.
