Jermaine O'Neal - Missing in Action?!

here is an article by Steve Aschburner from cnnsi about Jermaine and some other guys that have seemingly disappeared...

Quote:
F: Jermaine O'Neal, Raptors
Getting traded north of the border can cause even the most productive player to be forgotten, but O'Neal hasn't been that guy with Toronto. His numbers are below his standards (though he did average 25.0 points during a four-game stretch last month), he's having trouble staying healthy again and he and Chris Bosh haven't meshed quickly. The gap between what O'Neal is taking ($21.4 million) and what he's bringing grows by the day.

story here

any thoughts on why he hasn't even been seen with the team? Except for the Pacers game, anyone have ideas as to where he is?

You want to slowly ease the guy in. Against a team like the Suns who like to run and up against Shaq who can pound dudes in the paint, it was better to side of the err of caution and rest him.

perhaps, but why then, would he not show he can still play against the suns who play a little more defense than the Raptors and he could have made some difference yesterday perhaps...

Listen, do you want the guy gone or not? Phoenix runs alot, their bigs are tough, you don't want to chance anything, especially if you have a deal brewing. If he plays Friday, he's got 3 days to rest up and he would have a better showing against Atlanta, who's bigs aren't as talented as Phoenix's. That's why.

yeah - no kidding, what was that all about? Is he that stupid, or just hates Canada - I always wonder about this when I read stuff like this. because it's not clear to me whether these writers are stupid and ignorant, or just canada haters. Of course, it's possible they are both ...
