I thought that NYK only guaranteed his contract until the end of the season.... wouldn't that make him unrestricted?

If he didn't put me on ignore, he'd know the answer to this question because I posted an article explaining the situation.

For those of you who care, I'll post it again here so we don't have to speculate.

Lin will be a restricted free agent this summer, meaning the Knicks can match any offer he receives, without respect to the salary cap. So if the Knicks want to keep him in July, they have every means to do so.

The Knicks do not own any so-called Bird rights on Lin because he was acquired on waivers. However, they are protected by what is known as the Gilbert Arenas rule. That provision, named for the former Washington guard, adopted in 2005, limits rival teams from offering anything more than the average player salary to a restricted free agent with two years or fewer in the N.B.A.

The Knicks will be able to use their midlevel exception, which is slightly higher than the average player salary, to sign Lin or to match any offer. If no other team tenders Lin an offer, the Knicks can use any part of their midlevel exception or biannual exception to sign him.

You ever think maybe its when people are polarized on either end and that it gets the same reaction, not the opposite.

What exactly bothers you about Lin praising God? He's not out there kneeling and praying during warm-ups... or crossing himself after every basket... I really don't see what the big deal is. People are so damn testy about ANY kind of religious reference these days.

Lin is a RFA after the season.

BTW, the Raptors' coaching staff must have read my scouting report - hedge out aggressively on the screen-and-roll and stay on the shooters on the perimeter. He has 6 assists but also 5 turnovers.

I believe 13 games is the correct number.

Bargnani for MVP.
