Raptors Jeff Van Gundy or Stan Van Gundy

How do we start a campaign to pursue these guys as our future head coach?

Stan is the man. Stern dismantle the team and package it in parts for a new Euorpean expansion draft if we hired him though.

Both are an upgrade over Casey.

From what I've read, neither guys is itching to get back into coaching. And if they were, something tells me they could inherit a much better situation.

Seems like JVG hasn't coached in ages. Houston was a long time ago.

I'd take Stan, he's the definition of a modern 2010s two-way coach.

Either would be great though. And I don't think either would come without a massive paycheck. I think both would look at contenders or at least teams like the Nets, unless the Raptors really go nuts with their check book.

That said.... i don't mind Casey as much as some. I realize Van Gundies aren't very realistic. I'd rather stick with Casey than settle with something mediocre.

Add the fact that he always wanted to be more than a coach, he sees himself as Popovich - a coach-GM. But his long term planning and talent evaluation makes Colangelo look like Presti.
So I'd rather stick with Casey.

Stan Van Gundy.......Sam Cassell(I think he's ready, was a champion too and played with greats)................................Patrick Ewing(if you want to cater to Valanciunas as the cornerstone)..........if you really wanna gamble,Shaka Smart(VCU,would be good with all our young players). Casey's cool too, just get him a low post scorer and we'll see what he can do with the offense.

Stan would be great. Alvin Gentry might be better though.

I'd say Casey didn't had his chance. Over the time he did a pretty good job when he took it from J.Triano, so I believe it would be fair to let him finish the season and look how the next one starts to see if DD, Gay and Lowry can operate together, I think defensively we are pretty set, but Casey needs to figure it out how to improve our offense and 3pt shooting.

I'd say let him finish this season and start a next one and see how he fairs in the beggining of it.

I like DC, but SVG would be such a great coach for us. Maybe after next season, as I don't see casey losing his job until he gets a chance to prove himself with this new roster.

I would ask SVG to come here during this summer and to convince him, over a full paycheck, i would give him the right to choose his GM , so we set us free from BC too (can't immagine SVG with BC)

I'd want JVG to replace BC and let him pick a coach.
