BC just said, will most likely be the head coach for the remainder of the season. Thoughts?

If we win a playoff series, he'll be around another year.

Mabey, I think he definately has the X's and O's and has long been considered a players coach.

BC does like getting virgin coaches, who knows.

I think he will be our coach for the saeson. If he can turn things around and take us to the second round I'd say let BC sign him again

Our problems run deeper than coaching in my opinion. But considering we don't have much to offer from a trading perspective, a change at the bench boss spot was the next best thing I guess.

I like Triano alot and wish him only success. I just don't see it with the roster we have. JMO

Things can always change......he will not be fired but a new coach will be signed.

Besides this a chance for him to prove we are not wasting money on him

I'm sure if the opportunity arrives, we'll get a new coach. What are you expecting BC to say, that we'll keep Triano until we get somebody better? You have to be a little more diplomatic than that, in the event that the guy BC wants is not available or not willing to come mid-season.

Triano is not a bad coach, he is the only one on the staff with serious head coaching background (National Team) and he is definitely a sentimental choice being a Canadian. However, unless team displays remarkable turnaround, I don't see him staying at the helm beyond this season, if that.

I am not a Jay Triano fan. I had a few friends who tried out for Team Canada when he was the coach and he loves "his" guys and eff everybody else. That was what was told to me.

A majority of the people on this site believed that it was time for Smitch to go. BC saw that and did something. As much as I am not a fan of Triano. I have even more confidence in BC. I think he knows what he is doing. I personally believe when the captain goes... all the other men should go but I am not an NBA GM.

I've heard the EXACT same thing from another source who knows one of my friends.

It's been a few years since his Canada days though.... and I'm sure that he'll want to make the best impression that he can for this, his "audition".... so I'm sure he'll try to get the most that he can out of EVERYONE.

One guy that I think will play a larger role now though is JK. Just a gut feeling.

Give Triano about a month and people will see that he is alot beter than Smitch.

And this team has enough talent to absolutly kill it offensively. Team only needs defense at specific times. As long as the make the other team shoot contested shots and rebound the ball, their offense will carry them.

He said that he learned an immense amount from Sam Mitchell, and didn't even mention Wilkins when he went over the people who he has gained the most knowledge from. I believe he said he thought Sam had a vast amount of basketball knowledge. Yep - vast was the word.

Y'know - I would just like to get some feeling for what BC wants to do with the team. Either he is waiting for 2010 and wants us all to suffer through two years of no certain direction, or he just hasn't pieced any picture of what he wants to do firmly enough to do it.

Does he just want to kill it with the offense? If so the trade for JO was a little ridiculous. And it would achieve what come playoff time exactly? Or is he committed to a style that is more suited to winning in the playoffs? If so the roster just isn't complete.

I think BC more than has a plan.

I think the pace is gonna quicken and things tighten up.

This team is far from complete, but this team still should be alot better than it is.
