Thumbs up Jawai Impressing The Raptors at Impact Basketball

Definitely some more encouraging news in his development so far.

First was a serious of low post power moves - Jawai on one side and O'Neal on the other. Jawai is a huge physical specimen, and he showed right away that he has the footwork and the raw power to be lethal under the hoop. Next up was a series of shooting drills, one of which had him shooting one-handed from the free throw line extended. He made a high percentage of those shots, too, and definitely has the potential to be a mid-range threat. Together with his power game under the basket he could turn out to be an important player for the Raptors this season.

Excellent, hopefully he turns out to be a surprise player like a bigger Paul Milsap.

Welcome to RF Whizzy.
Jawai played in his 1st Summer League game yesterday? He put up around 13 points and 5 rebounds?
Looking pretty good.

i was watching summer league and some of the things joey graham does is jaw dropping because i never knew he could do them and in other playes he messes up or throws up a prayer. If he can become consitant then dont be surprised if he is in our rotation.

Yeah, but keep in mind who he's playing against. It's not against players that are even remotely going to be playing in the NBA anytime soon. So take what you saw from Graham in summer league with a grain of salt.

I wouldn't be surprised.I'd be stupified and shocked if he was no more than a bench warmer getting the occasional minute at garbage time.

Joey has all the physical tools. He has the body, athleticism, everything. He's just a bit dumb, that's all. If he puts it together, he would be a force.

He doesn't seem to have any commitment to get better or add anything to his game.He played well in the summer league,Yippy! I'll say like Doug Smith "If Joey couldn't do well in the summer league he'd have no chance at all".We got good Joey for a few games against mostly crap talent.

That's exactly why he excels in summer league.

Physical tools dominate the summer league because team offense and defense isn't as advanced as you would see in season games for obvious reasons.

I mean, Nate Robinson just had his summer league jersey retired, which is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

And for some reason he seems fairly excited about it.

Way to have no fucking clue about summer league's irrelevance Nate!
