James Johnson!
I know it's only 2 games but these 4 stats really stick out to me.
APG 3.5 SPG 4.0 BPG 2.5 & add to it 7 RPG! The Steals & Blocks put him at an elite level if he can keep it up. Who think he can keep it up? Here is to hoping he can keep it up for the next 64 games!!!:Totally_jammin_out: |
No way he keeps up 4 SPG and 2.5 BPG or even halph of that lol. Plus, that would lower Amir's chances at winning DPOY! :dancing:
|
He's probably my favourite current raptor. I think he should work on his post game so he can get himself some easier buckets, with Andrea, Calderon and now Derozan able to hit 3's in the starting lineup Johnson doesn't really need to.

I hope I can play Halph the defense JJ played when I play ball tonight! |
He's pretty bad offensively and turns it over too much but i love his attitude and effort which is all i'm looking at right now. For me this season is about effort and competing and he fits the bill in spades. And no, he won't be able to keep thos stats up especially the steals.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when Kleiza gets back and when he gets in a little better game shape. I'm guessing Butler will be riding the bench. If healthy, he adds size toughness and can hit the 3 at a decent clip.

He needs to start the 3. Butler has yet to impress, and forbes needs some burn.

JJ has ok picknroll ability, good spot up shooting, court vision, goes after offensive rebounds. But his shot is mind cramped right now and raps don't use his pnr so it seems bad. Quote:

I love him too, however I really hope he learns to pick his spots. He may turn out to be a real steal. |
Gotta love the defensive abilities he brings.
What I don't understand is given he is not a kid .. Why he hasn't developed a legit shot .. He needs to either get a post up game or learn to shot the rock if he wants to be a starter. |
JJ = JYD with a Mohawk

Never mind that. I'm just glad he evicted that squirrel that was squatting across the centre of his scalp.

He plays passionately and with a lot of energy, but he needs to pick his spots better as at times he gets to excited and ends up costing his team by overhelping (which, after years of never having any help defense, I can live with) and gambling for steals. I do like what he does for this team defensively, though. Once he corrects some of these minor brain cramp moments that he is prone to having, and we have to realize that this really is his first year in the league where he actually gets consistent minutes, he is going to be a really good defender for the Raptors.
Offensively he is a bit of a train wreck as he tends to dribble himself into trouble and he certainly has turnover problems. His jumper still needs a lot of work, but he does give the team a nice look with his playmaking ability from the small forward spot. With a team that has so little playmaking, it is a valuable attribute that he brings to the table, but much like him defensively, he needs to learn to pick his spots better. Even if my post may seem a bit critical of him, I do really like what he brings to the team and he is a very valuable piece. Hopefully he can round out his game and work out some of his flaws because he definitely brings a lot of nice things to the table. |
