He has to be in the top 3 IMO, if he wins the Dunk contest he might even have a chance but I doubt it. And I dont think he deserves it anyway. Durant is basically gettting wins for Seatle by himself, Moon has a pretty good team around him. But I agree he deserves some good recognition

He has no chance in my opinion. I'd love to be wrong but Durant will be the unanimous winner of this season's Rookie of the Year.

durrant will win, but i dont think he'll be unanimous.
he's team stinks...
look for Horford to get some votes...
he's playing extrememly well in the last few weeks and his team is competing... if hawks make the playoffs, he should get a handful of votes... not enough to win ROY, but enough to keep it from being a landslide.

i wonder how Oden would have done this season?
look at the blazers... they will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years...
remove Joel pryzbilla with Oden... and wow.

Can't see Moon winning, especially not with media darling Durant. Yi is putting up okay numbers, Horford is coming on as of late and Sean Williams is putting up respectable numbers. Moon being in the dunk-off would at least garner him some votes and notoriety - especially if he wins the competition.

I agree with all you guys..my thread title was a bit faceitious. I'm happy though he's getting attention for defense and not big numbers...it's a good trend in the league to be recognizing overall contributions over just stats(ironic i realize that the article i quoted was heavily influenced by stats, but i digress).

Anyone see the short interview of Jamario by Jim Rome on the front page of ESPN.com basketball? He says he may do a dunk in the contest while wearing the pink high school musical backpack he has as his Raps initiation... now that's jokes.

Also a good interview with Bosh.

WTF was up with Jim rome's stupid ass question to Bosh about coming to a [qoute]large market[/quote] in the states. I'm so sick of this ignorant bullshit. Maybe Rome knows the size of the Toronto / Canadian market. and if he does, he may want to re-think his words next time.

not to harp on a small bit in an otherwise decent interview, but it's comments like that that will keep the stereotypes going.

and the Moon interview was cool.
