yeah no kidding.

Like i don't want to say that coaching is the entire problem, but fuck Triano hasn't exactly run a tight ship during this 2 week mess.

I respect Jack. I also know he never talks bad about a coach. He is in the fraternity and will support coaches till he dies.

This team's fucked up-ness is a result of a bunch of different factors, it's tough to put your finger on just one thing. I like Jay Triano. I don't necessarily agree with some of the things he does, but who am I to judge.

Fact is this team from our star player all the way to the last guy off the bench lacks the fire and intensity needed to win in a league full of super athletes.

Added the bold part. Triano definately is not the only problem, but as someone pointed out, guys not having identified roles is coaches problem and team not having identity is partly coaches problem too (even if the major players also make a lot of the identity).

Watch it Here
1. The coach creates the team's identity
2. He is the problem
3. If the coach coach pushes the leader he will step up
4. The coach decides roles

gotta love it when the message board denizens think they know basketball better than a career hoops guy like Jack.

It's because he dared to question the leaders
we all know who the leader of the team is, and Jack called him out during the gsw game.

That's not to say triano is blameless, but one of the main reasons we're losing is bosh.

Jack threw the coach under the bus himself the other night when he went on a rant about something needing to be done even if it's getting Marcus banks in there to stop the perimeter bleeding. What he's saying here is just backing off of what slipped out, so that he can maintain the respect of the franchise.

And looking at it I have to say that the biggest issue to me is Andrea. Talk about zero fire and negligible intensity. And he's the guy that gets the most minutes on most nights. Triano finally benched the guy the other night, on a night where il Mago went after a rebound with some nice hustle and muscle in the first minute, and then went to sleep. That is hard to make up, particularly when there are other assorted problems like porous defenders and vets that have lost a step and whatever injuries spring up. Unless everything else goes just right, then having a guy that just does not compete when the will to win becomes essential, is going to sink any team and any coach. Just ask Sam Mitchell.

And maybe it's not just Bargnani. Maybe Hedo hasn't exactly asserted his will either. And ultimately maybe the combination of the two guys is where the problem lies. But I still see little more than avoidance from the head coach, to the point where Armstrong himself seemed to pop and offer up the multiple ways to try to tackle the problems. I mean do something.

Jack Armstrong isn't gonna throw a coach under the bus. Has he ever really blamed any coach while in Toronto? Shit, how many broadcasters say that it's the coache's fault? I've rarely if ever heard a broadcaster throw the coaches under the bus, especially their home teams coach.

Bosh does need to step up. That is pretty obvious. I don't think Bosh would disagree.

I said it yesterday - this stretch will make a lot things clear. But make no mistake - Bosh is not capable of benching anyone. He simply gets to try to make up for the lack of fire and intensity. And if he does so to the point where this squad makes the playoffs, then there is a certain clarity in that, and there is going to have to be a really hard look at a couple other core guys. Jack was just on the radio, questioning Hedo very emphatically. Not Bosh. Hedo. And a seven-footer, drafted number one four years ago should be leading at least to the point where he is not allergic to rebounding - that is too obvious for anyone to even mention.
