Jack Armstrong: Thoughts On 4 Opposing Players From The Road Trip
Quote:
HELLO!!!!!!!! The Raptors return home after a 1-3 trip to start a 3 game Home Stand at 5-7 and it's time to start getting on track. There is NO PLACE like Home!!! The defensive inconsistencies and nagging injuries to Reggie Evans, Antoine Wright and Hedo Turkoglu have hurt but every team deals with these challenges and now they have to push through and play better. Have got to get on the correct side of the W-L column or it gets tougher and tougher to climb above the .500 mark as you go along.
Figured I'd focus on an opposing player from each of the past 4 teams the Raptors played on the road and give you my thoughts. Here goes. See ya @ the ACC!!!
CHRIS KAMAN (LA Clippers): Love the improvements he has made in his game. Effective low post scorer who works diligently to get proper position inside. Has got that winning 'engine' that good players have. Plays very hard. Shoots it OK from 17 feet. Skilled in post with good moves and footwork. Has good 2nd effort on the offensive boards and has good hands. Will bang on the glass and try to guard you in the post. Much improved.
JR SMITH (Denver Nuggets): Totally unconscious! This dude can light it up from anywhere on the court. Can flat out shoot it, create his own shot and fits perfectly into the Nuggets system. Instant offense off the bench. Might be a top guy this year for 6th man of the Year along with Jason Terry and Manu Ginobli. Love the swagger that he plays with and puts a ton of pressure on you to be prepared to guard at all times. He'll win some games for them this year.
